Two major years of our entire lives have drawn to a close. In these two years, we made new friends, started humble beginnings, fought with each other, laughed and smiled; got angry at times, scolded by lecturers, shared both our happiness and sorrows with each other, even cried at times. We jumped past every hurdle, overcame our difficulties, changed our attitudes and took a huge step to become men and women of the future.
Two years we worked hard, well some of us did, to climb further the ladder of life. We gave all that we had to some booklets and OMRs and let lives be decided by a jackass with a red pen. This status is not a memorabilia for the future. Not the one saying goodbye. Its a status for the real heroes who on the sidelines, made others the winner.
Yes, this status is for the losers, the jackasses, the dumbfuckers, the inbetweeners and every other person who couldn't be what society had set him to be. This status is to make them feel proud about themselves, for not being a blind horse; for being unselfish; sacrificing themselves so that there could be winners.
People look down on us, point their finger at us. Undermine us for their selfish reasons and feel disgusted by us. We've become a burden because of some booklets and OMRs. We feel utter pain when we see our loved ones cry. We punish ourselves for letting them down. And even though we smile on the outside, the pain and sorrow slowly hug us from the inside.
But I have to tell you, this is not the end. We've hit rock bottom and there's no other way than up. We will emerge and we will succeed, not because of peer pressure or because someone pointed a finger at us. But for ourselves to make that sadness go away. We will fight our way through as our lives aren't finished yet. Its over when we say its over and there's nothing people can do about it. We will achieve what we set out to be and be a part of future history.
Yes, we are the proud losers; proud jackasses; proud dumbfuckers; proud inbetweeners. And I raise a torch for us, to finish what we started.
