Broken Promises

Chapter 5

Kamri's POV

I grabbed Riker's hand and lead him to the to my bedroom and locked us in there.

"Why are we in here?" He asked as he pulled me close to him.

"You ask too many questions." I said as I put my arms around his neck.

"Me?" He asked as he slowly pushed me to the door smirking at me.

"Yes you." I whispered softly into his ear.

"God, this is why I love you." He whispered against my neck.

I took my hand and lifted his face to look at me. I looked into his eyes and sighed as my eyes filled with tears.

"Are you okay?" Riker asked me pulling me into a tight hug.

I nodded my head as I walked away and sat on the edge of my bed. Riker's eyes turned into sad puppy eyes that I couldn't look away from. Riker sat next to me and wrapped his arms around me. I put my head into his chest and take in his sent.

"It's okay." Riker said as he rubbed my back.

"It's been eleven years Riker. Our daughter is turning eleven years old next week and she doesn't have siblings, or you. The father she doesn't know about, that she met before. I don't want to hurt her. I don't want to hurt you, or anyone in the process. Can you imagine how mad your siblings would be? What if you and, your siblings want to get full custody of Rykella?" I said as tears ran down my face.

"It's been a long time, I know. Rykella, is our daughter. Not my siblings. Rykella Mary Lynch will always be ours, and you Kamri Lynch will always be the love of my life. Nothing will ever change that. I don't care if I get hurt. As long as I'm with you and Rykella, my family I don't care what happens outside of us." Riker said as tears filled his eyes.

"Riker.... I don't know if I can do this again." I said as I looked down, holding the sobs in my throat that wanted out so bad.

"What...... what are you saying?" Riker choked out as his tears rolled down his cheeks.

"I'm saying.... I don't think me and you work anymore." I said as my voice shaked and broke.

"No. I'm not letting you say that. Not after everything. I'm in love with you and nothing will ever make me stop." Riker said as he put a hand to my cheek.

"Riker.....I can't" I said as my tears started pouring out of my eyes.

"If you can't. Tell me. Look me in the eyes and say you don't love me." Riker said as his voice broke.

"I.....can't say that." I said as I closed my eyes and looked away.

"Exactly. Don't hide from me either." Riker said as he turned my face back towards him.

I put one hand on the side of his neck and the other hand on his shoulder. I leaned in and kissed him softly with passion. Riker eventually kissed back and we kissed until we heard a knock on my door.
