∞DAY1∞

FIRST OFFICIAL DAY

Upon our arrival at the hospital, the man who drove me, Mr. Carrey, madam's family butler (which I fished out later from him after an hour of incessant questioning), brought me to the room where my new employer's son was admitted.

To say that I'm appalled would be an understatement.

Wow, these people are loaded. I thought, but then mentally face palmed when I realized something. Of course they are, you nitwit! They have a friggin' butler! If that don't convice you, then what will?

Wow, I must really be defected up there... I'm actually arguing with myself ...

Before I could ruin my employer's first impression of me, since you know—first impressions are apparently very important, Mr. Carrey opened the door.

The lavishness of the room impressed me yet again. The interior of the hospital room looks like that of a pricey hotel suite, If not for the hospital bed, oxygen, wires and the actual patient himself, I would've believed otherwise.

I must've looked comical ogling the view like I'm just out sightseeing and not actually meeting my employer, since Mr. Carrey indulged me with a not so gentle nudge to stop me from daydreaming.

Agay ha...

"Like I was saying, Miss de la Quin. She is Madam Dolores Fox. And she will officially be your employer from now on." Mr. Carrey said while slightly glaring at me.

I smiled sheepishly at Mrs. Fox.

"Hi ma'am, I'm Friday de la Quin. I was hired by the agency as per your request?"

"Ah yes. Friday? My, what a delightful name! Please do come in and be comfortable!" Mrs. Fox, my employer said.

Since first impressions is apparently a thing nowadays (my mother said), then my impression over ma'am Dolores could be summed up to one word. Bubbly. For a woman in her 50's, Dolores is obviously beautiful. Though a few wrinkles littered her face, it did nothing to ruin her beauty—mayhap it added some sort of mystery...story in it.

I stepped inside the spacious room and seated myself at one of the comfy couches stylishly placed inside the room. Mr. Carrey, instead of following suit, asked to be excused says he has to be home at the mansion doing his duties before the madams and sirs arrive. Wow, it must've been superb having butler running house duties and whatnots for you. Dolores smiled and bid the butler goodbye before closing the door after him.

Then she turned and faced me.

"So Friday, how was the flight? Was it good? Are you tired? My, how do you find America? I mean it's your first time right?" She barraged me with a hundred questions all at once. Of course an exaggeration, but you know what I mean.

I chuckled when she realized what she did.

"Oh I'm sorry Friday! I guess I'm just excited at the prospect of meeting new people..."

"It's fine Mrs. Fox! Yes the flight was good. I guess I'm a wee bit tired since it's my first time flying, and long distance at that! But America is simply divine!" I answered truthfully, the reality of the situation is now just sinking in to me.

Mrs. Fox gave me a disapproving look and shook her head while preparing a meal... for me?

"Mrs. Fox??? How dreadful! That simply cannot be, Friday! I sounded too old for that nonsense. I'd prefer you call me Dolores." She said while handing me the food.
