"I am so glad to get out of this hell hole!" yelled Rajani as she skipped out the school gates.
"For real, Raj. Thank God it's half term. No school for a whole week!"
Rajani and I were inseparable by now. Luckily she was in most of my classes, so I wouldn't have to face most of the school day on my own. I had also listened to Lucille's wise words; I had broke out my shell and become more confident. I found it easier to socialize with people now, and made some new friends over the past couple of weeks too. But Rajani was my main girl, and nothing or no one would change that.
"Well, well, well... Look who it is" Rajani said as we walked towards the bus stop.
"Oh my God. How's my hair?" I said frantically as I tried to make myself look somewhat presentable.
"Fine, fine. Act calm, you don't want to look desperate Ta-"
"Hey Tash." His deep voice made my heart skip a beat.
"Hi Nathan" I shook at the knees. I could hear Rajani snickering from behind me.
"So, do I get a hug, or what?" I hesitated then went in for the hug. He smelt so sweet, I could almost lick his caramel skin.
I never really had crushes, I thought it was all petty school kid stuff and I wasn't merely interested. But, Nathan King was one fine piece of meat. We went to the same school, though he was in the year above me. We had met when I was waiting for Rajani outside the detention room, because she had been late for lessons two times that week. He must have been dismissed early because he almost collided with me at the door as he breezed out. We instantly clicked.
"I was waiting for you. I was wondering if you two ladies wanted to come to Mitchell's party tonight?"
"Who's Mitchell?" Rajani asked. I was wondering the same thing.
"One of my boys, the Caucasian one. His parents have gone to Paris for the weekend, so he's throwing a little gathering."
"I'm down" I said. "Rajani, you up for it?"
"Mmm..." She paused. "I'm meant to go mosque today."
I put my arm around her shoulders, "If you don't go, then I can't go, Raj. Please, for me?"
"Fine. I'll tell my mum I'm going mosque with my older sister in Walthamstow. Otherwise she'll start suspecting things."
"Hmm. So I'll be seeing you ladies later, yeah?"
"Yeah." Me and Raj replied in sync.
"I'll text you the details in a bit, Tash." Nathan shouted back as he started walking home.
This would be the first party I go to with no adults. The old me wouldn't have been invited to this party, let alone agree to the idea. But the new me was excited.

I was now at home chilling in the living room watching 'The real housewives of Atlanta' when my phone vibrated.
It was from Nathan.
"94 Partridge Crescent

Seemed as if Mitchell didn't live too far from me. I exited the text message and dialed Rajani's number.
