Annabell's POV

"We have to go help the others now." Justin muttered.

I got to my feet and held my hand out to him. He took it, and I pulled him up.

"Justin!" Two children yelled, running around the corner and up to us.

"Maka! Kid! You have to help us as well! Let's go!" Justin ordered, running toward the main room of the hideout.

I followed him, Maka and Kid on my heels. I looked at the walls of the hall to see gigantic dents.

"Did I do that?" I asked Justin.

"You had a lot of strength while you were after us." He explained.

I pulled my eyebrows together. Was I trying to kill Justin while I was under the control of the madness?

Justin opened the door that separated us from the others.

~~~
"Retreat!" Stein yelled.
Marie had saved him from the madness, and everyone was fighting Medusa. I wrapped Justin's arm around my shoulders and got to my feet. I struggled to move, and I remembered the injury I had gotten on my leg after Justin was hit.
I shoved him to the side when Medusa sent a vector arrow directly at us.
"Annabell!" Marie yelled.
I held my arm out toward the arrow. My fingers spread as wide as they could, and a bright light filled the room, blinding everyone. When I was able to see properly, the smoke that had appeared faded away, revealing a white cross acting as a shield.
"Law Obstruction! Blinding Silver Gun!" I growled, setting my jaw.
Wind swirled around in front of the cross, forming a ball of light. It shot a beam at Medusa, and she screamed when it hit her.
"Anna...." Justin moaned.
I looked at him. He was trying to stand up.
"I'd you want to play that way, I'll attack your weak point!" Medusa growled.
"Stein!" I ordered when Medusa sent thousands of vectors arrows toward Justin.
I transformed into my Guillotine Scythe, and Stein caught me. He stood in front of Justin and twirled me around in front of him.
"I won't let you hurt my Meister!" I barked.
~~~

"Ouch!"

"Sorry!"

I brushed the dirt off of my clothes while Niagus looked over Justin's wounds. We had returned to the DWMA shortly after we distracted Medusa by throwing a smoke bomb at her.

"Do you have any wounds?" Niagus asked, looking at me as she stood up.

"I'll live in the condition I'm in. Please look at the others."

She walked away, and I sat down in the chair next to Justin's Dispensary bed. I put my head in my hand.

"Why did you protect me?" Justin asked.

"I reacted without thinking. A Weapon protects its Meister." I answered, pinching the bridge of my nose with my thumb and index finger.

"That's not why you did it though."

"It's not."

"Then why?"

"You are more than a Meister to me. You are my entire life built in front of me."

He rolled to his side, reached out toward me, and touched my cheek. I pulled the chair closer to his bed so he wouldn't strain himself. I smiled before he kissed me.

He sighed when he broke away. "This isn't the end of the battle, is it?"

"I'm afraid not, Justin."

"For now, can I spend my time with you?"

"I'll stay as long as you want me to."

"Then you will have to put up with me for a long time, Annie."

His eyes glittered with excitement. I hesitated before I played with his hair.

"Lord Death, have mercy on this blessed soul." He muttered.

I leaned forward and kissed him. He pushed the kiss farther, and I knotted my fingers in his hair.
