A flash of brightness from behind his eyelids caused Josh to shoot up as he noticed his mother opening his shades.
    "It's time for school Josh."
Josh groaned and stood up as his mother walked out the door, leaving him to get ready.
Remembering his plan, Josh gulped and got dressed in a black hoodie and grey sweatpants.
He ran his hand through his hair as he ran downstairs, running out the door with a piece of toast in between his teeth.
Walking through the gate, he noticed several boys surrounding a boy crumpled on the floor, the group throwing punches at him.
Josh ignored them, walking into class a few minutes early to grab his seat in the back.
Tobi walked in a minute later, sitting next to his dark-haired best friend.
"So this morning I was contacted by Lord Tenebris. I finally have my first real assignment."
Josh's eyes widened and he pretended to smile, secretly kind of upset that Lord Tenebris chose Tobi over him. "What is it?"
"I was assigned to plague a boy who just lost his parents with awful nightmares. His name is Ethan or something."
"Nice!" Josh exclaimed, genuinely impressed. He pushed the jealousy into the back of his head.
Vik ran in just before the teacher started, dropping his stuff on the desk with a loud bang.
"You just made it." Josh said bluntly, watching the slightly red boy struggle to catch his breath.
"Sorry, I was checking out what was happening out front. The Cals were bullying that boy again."
    "Who, Simon?" Tobi asked.
"Is that his name?" Josh asked, turning to Tobi.
"I think so. It's been circulating the school, everyone talking about the Cal's victim, so I assume it's him." Tobi replied.
"Turn to page 394." The teacher exclaimed in a monotone voice as Josh sighed.

"I'll catch up with you guys later. I have to go do something." Josh said, waving goodbye as he walked away.
The other two nodded and waved goodbye before starting towards Vik's house.
Josh walked to a secluded area before taking out a small remote and pressing a button, causing him to teleport to a large, shadowed field in front of a castle.
The castle was dark like everything around it. It's large towers created shadows in the shape of monsters and the whole place reeked of death, but Josh just smiled slightly.

Walking up to the large dark pine door, Josh slowly pushed it open and stepped inside.
The inside was just as dark as the outside and everything was blood red.
Josh walked along the hallway into the throne room where he stopped to dip into a low bow.
"You may rise Joshua Bradley." A low growl echoed throughout the room.
Josh rose and looked at the throne, glancing at the ghostly pale figure in his long black robes before meeting the figure's dark, blood red eyes.
"What troubles you Joshua?" The figure asked, tapping its long bony fingers on the side of the throne.
"Lord Tenebris, I was wondering when I will get my first actual assignment."
"Do you believe you are ready?" Lord Tenebris asked.
Josh hesitated for a moment before nodding his head. "Yes."
"Ok. If you believe you are ready, I have an assignment that I could use someone younger and loyal to the Nightmares."
Josh nodded to show that he was listening.
"I have reports of a boy being bullied, but he's still holding on, and he won't let go. I need you to give him messages. Drive him off the edge."
Josh nodded again. "Of course Lord Tenebris. I'll start tomorrow night. And his name?"
Lord Tenebris sent a grin towards Josh that sent a shiver down his spine.
    "Simon Minter."
