"Come on Kadia. Is that all you read?" Sheryl complains trying to distract me from what I'm reading. "All you read is comics. Why don't you read some romance?"

"Number one...I like comics and you like romance. It's what we prefer. Number two, as you can see this is a romantic comic." I hold up my DC comic.

She sighs. "I mean real romantic novels. Not fake!" she grabs the comic from me and shakes it in the air. I gasp.

"This is not fake. It's about Superman and Lois Lane having some problems in their married relationship!"

"I bet he uses his superpowers to get divorced."

I roll my eyes at her comment. "You get me to read romance. Don't push it to pure romance." I hold my pointer finger at her.

"Whatever. As long as you're my best friend everything's good." I smile as she swings her arm around my shoulder and we head over to fourth period class. This is what I like about Sheryl. Although we have a lot of differences, we still are best friends no matter what. Sheryl is pretty much the only friend I have. I also have this other friend in English class name Dennis who is the comic type. But we don't hang out that much (we usually chat online) and he's more into Marvel and that's ok with me. At least he doesn't hate DC. Sheryl is pretty quiet as well, but she has her own little group of friends as well. But whenever I'm available she most of the time picks to hang out with me. I hanged out with her friends a few times before and they were really great people but I wasn't really there type so I was usually quiet around them.

Speaking of friends, I had English which means Dennis would be there. Sheryl's class was the room next to mine so we parted our ways and headed to our classrooms. I spot Dennis in the usual spot he sits in with the left side empty. As you guessed, that's my seat. I make my way to my seat and place all my folders on the desk.

"Hey Dennis."

"Hey Kadia." Dennis smiles as he readjusts his square framed glasses. To be honest, he's pretty good looking. It's surprising he's not dating anyone. "How was your weekend?"

"The usual. I watched the Avengers." He takes out his notebook and goes to the last page, making a score.

"That will be the twenty-third time you watching it" he states as his pen makes a click.

"Well it never gets old." I shrug. He chuckles. "What about you?"

"The usual...just had a little fun with Venus ya know?" he winks. I roll my eyes. Dennis and I had our superhero mates. Venus, or as I like to call her, 'superslut' was Dennis' girlfriend from Marvel. The reason I called her a superslut is because well....she is pretty much a superslut.

"See. She is a slut. You guys are more like friends with benefits." I exclaim crossing my arms. He exaggeratedly gasps.

"Are you calling my girlfriend a slut? She is a beautiful, kind-hearted lady known to be the superhero of love. She is the god of Venus reborn." Does he think he's giving a speech or some sort?

"They say it's her voice that charms people into lust and tranquility...not her titties!" I exclaim.

"At least she has beautiful flaws. Unlike what you call a hunk of a boyfriend." Dennis snorts spinning the pen with his fingers.

"Don't talk about my boyfriend like that!" I put my hand on my heart. "He's not a pervert cough cough like yours, that walks around naked saving people." He rolls his eyes. No one messes with my Robin!

"Whatever you say bitch" he mutters when the teacher walks in the room.

"You should call superslut that" I quietly shoot back. He gives me the evil eye and faces back to the teacher as she begins to talk. Oh and yes, Robin is my hubby.

------------

After school I am at my locker gathering my things for home. I start walking to the exit to get to the parking lot. "Ready?" Sheryl asks from behind me.

I nod. "Yeah." We're heading to Sheryl's car when a sudden figure appears in front of us. It's one of Sheryl's friends, Andy.

"Hey Sheryl. I was wondering if you'd want to come to the Uptown Arcade with me?" Andy asks a little nervously. The uptown arcade is a very popular, yet very expensive arcade. You need like a VIP pass to get in there.

"That's very nice but it's so expensive and I don't want you spending all that money for me" Sheryl replies with a frown.

"But I got 2 passes for free and I want you to come with me." he says a little too hurriedly. Awww...this is so cute. As you can see it's clear that Alex has had a crush on Sheryl for almost about a year. Thing is, she is bad at realizing this kind of stuff. Idiot.

"Fine. Only for you." she ruffles his hair and he starts to blush. She doesn't realize it. Idiot.

"It's next week Saturday. I'll pick you up at 6. Is that ok?" she nods and he smiles. "Great. See you tomorrow" and he's gone. As soon as we get in the car I smack her upside her little bronze head.

"Ouch! What was that for? Your black hair is perfectly fine no need to be jealous." she complains rubbing her head. I roll my eyes.

"Can't you see that Alex likes you? It's so obvious that even a blind person can tell!" She shakes her head."Never mind. Just drive dumbass."
