I watched as he pulled me outside of the school and a black van appears right in front of my eyes. Am I being kidnapped? He pushes me into the passenger seat and jogs around to the driver's seat. He tosses my notebooks at the back and starts to drive. He's going to rape me. He seemed like he was in his mid-thirties, maybe early-fourties.

"So can you tell me what's happening?" I break the silence. He glances at me and looks back at the road. "So you're not going to respond to me. Are you planning on kidnapping me?" my tone raises at every word. "I'm so stupid! I should have called for help or something..."

"Let me explain."

"Explain? I am so naive to let you take me to wherever you're taking me."

"Kadia."

"And look at me right now! Now even doing anything about it and just yelling about how stupid I am..."

"Kadia..." he says more louder.

"What will-"

"Your mother died" he interjects. My mouth instantly zips shut at those three words. Your mother died. That can't be possible.

"I'm sorry but I think you got the wrong person" I gulp trying so hard not to believe him.

"Listen. I tried to put it into more softer words but you were just keep talking..."

"Are you joking. Is it April fools already?" I take out my phone and try to get to the calender with my slighty shaking fingers.

"I'm your mom's friend at work. My name is Landon." he greets me. I don't acknowledge him because of this foreign shock I'm in. When I remain silent he continues. "I was there when it happened. There was a shooting at the mall nearby here." The mall nearby here. My eyes widened at this. The mall he's talking about is the mall that was being talked about on the news! "I'm sorry Kadia. The doctors tried all the things possible but it was no use. The van was silent. I let what happened process in my mind. Pictures of what my mom might have looked like being shot flooded my mind and I had to take deep breathes.

"Why did she get shot? What did she do?" my voice trembles at the end.

"Nothing. A few people tried to steal from a store and they just ended up shooting random people...which happened to be your mom." he quietly states at the end. That's when I started to break down. Tears streamed down my face at this sudden news slammed into my face. I feel a hand on my shoulder. "I'm really sorry. " he pities me. I didn't really like pity. I calm down a little bit and use the back of my hands to wipe the tears off my face. I realize that the van has stopped, actually for a while now.

"Where are we?" I ask looking out the window.

"At the hospital." my mom's friend responds.

"Why? She's already dead" I say rather a little harshly. He stays silent. "Sorry. I didn't mean it like that." He nods.

"It's ok. We're here because they want to confirm this is actually your mom and they want you to do some paperwork. I nod.

"Let's go then." I get out of the van and go on Lambert's lead. We enter the dull building and head to the front desk. Lambert says something to the lady at the front desk and the only thing I heard from him is my mom's full name. The rest I didn't pay attention to because of my still appearant shock. My mom is the most important thing I had. Well except for Sheryl but she's the last family existing. I don't have no mom, no dad or no siblings. Heck, I'm not sure if I have any blood related relatives. The only person I met that's related to me is my mom's sister, and she lives all the way in Australia and came to visit for like a week.

"Are you coming?" A voice snaps me out of my thoughts. I look up to see Landon a few feet away from me.

"Um....ye-yeah" I stutter following him as we enter a long maze-like hallway. This was too much for me. It was only this morning I'm completely normal and fine and in a snap of a finger I have no family at all. Landon talks to another girl  at the front desk and soon we're directed to a room. The door number is 124. That's my new unlucky number. This is so soon. I'm not ready to go in there. To face my peacefully sleeping yet lifeless mom. I can't live on.

"Are you ready?" My mom's friend softly questions as he places his hands on the door knob. I nod shakily and he slowly opens the door, revealing my pale, dead mom.

*A/N: So I had a little trouble writing this chapter and it took a while but I really didn't know how to write so I tried. I know it sucks but maybe later I might improve on it. Will try to update more sooner next time. I might make the chapters more longer cause they seem too short. So i'll probably start updating once a week*
