I've never experienced it first hand, but I can tell you from what I've heard. And what I've heard is amazing. Love, such a strong emotion, something that can tear you to pieces only to be built back up again.
"Kenzie Grayce-Marie Lawley. If you don't come downstairs this instant so help me god I'll take out the belt." I could hear my dad yelling from downstairs. I knew he was kidding. My dad makes jokes about 'the belt' and none of us are exactly sure why.
"Dad, what the fuck do you want?" I call down the stairs.
I didn't get an answer from him. I wait a few more moments before I hear excited footsteps running up the stairs.
My mom comes running into my room and grabs me pulling me down stairs.
"Kenzie you're going to miss it! You can't miss this!" She squeals.
In the living room are my parents, and two best friends. Maia and Tracelynn.
"Uh. Guys, hey what are you doing here?" I nervously ask. Is something wrong?
Excitedly, they hold up a ticket to something in each hand and my mom puts one in my hand.
"PLAYLIST!" I scream, jumping up and down.
"Mom, is Kian gonna be there?!" I ask, still jumping.
Moms face turns to a frown.
"We still don't know if o2l is going to do a panel this year, but if they do. Even though it's in 2 days. You can bet your bottom dollar that he will." Sympathy, lingering in the ending words.
I shrugged it off, and went off with my friends to my room.
"Kenz you need to pack. We leave tomorrow, your mom forgot to give you your plane ticket, but we leave at 8:42pm." Tracelynn says.
I nod, pulling a suitcase out of my closet and shoving hot weather clothes into my bag. Which for me is basically shorts and a fuck ton of band tees.
"Flight 238-23 leaving from New York flying to Orlando, Florida is now boarding. Please use gate D-36 and have a safe trip. Thank you for flying Porter Airlines." A voice booms over the speaker as the girls and I gather our carryons and head to the gate and board the plane.
I look over at a group of boys sitting on the plane as I walk on. They whistle and hoot and holler at Tracelynn who's wearing tight ass short shorts and a bustier. As soon as Maia walks on, the hoots get louder for a moment then quiet down, as it seems they wait for me to come into view.
I begin walking to where Trace and Maia are sat, and one of the boys jaw totally drops.
"Holy Fuck." he says.
I just roll my eyes at him, then I hear the words.
"That's Mackenzie Grayce. I've seen her YouTube videos a million times." another boy says.
I turn and face him, and just smile.
Then I sit down next to Trace before the words get uttered again.
I sit in the seat as the plane waits to go down the runway just scrolling through twitter.
'@MackGrayce: sittin on a plane. follow spree? RT with hashtag #mackgraycefollowspree and maybe I'll follow you(:'
A person, I guess it's one of the boys tweets me.
'@ShanerBanger: I'm literally two rows ahead of you on the plane . follow me ? #mackgraycefollowspree'
I decide to do as I wish and follow him, cheers erupt from the guys and a flight attendant comes to hush them, while I quietly laugh. it's not long after, I fall asleep.
I wake in the middle of the flight to hushed murmurs and small talk between my friends. I think they're talking about o2l.
"Guys, what'd you say about o2l?" I ask.
Tracelynn kind of looked at me, tears falling from her eyes, "I'm so sorry Kenzie I know you wanted to see your brother but Connor just DMed Maia saying o2l won't be at Playlist this year."
"oh." I say, not being able to see my brother for the third year in a row since he left home is killing me.
Kian my twin, left our home in California 2 years ago, to go live in the o2l house with the boys. Then our dad got a job in New York and we moved out there. Kian still lives in LA with the boys. I finally thought I'd get to see him, but I guess that wasn't the case.
"Mackenzie Grayce! Do you mean to tell me you've been living in New York for almost a year and you still don't know how to call a cab?!" Maia shouts at me.
I just shrug and watch as Tracelynn waves her arm and screams, finally signalling a cab and we put our luggage in, then climb in.
"LaQuinta Hotel, on West 4th Blvd, Orlando Florida." I inform the cab driver, and he pulls out of the airport and onto I-75.
It's about a 15 minute cab ride to the hotel, where we check in and head up to our room.
"Oh uh Kenzie," Tracelynn starts as she's sitting on one of the beds. I look up at her, she has a beaming smile spread across her face. "You aren't only going to playlist as a guest. Check your tag." she tells me, and I do as I'm told.
"I-I'm a presenter?" I ask in disbelief.
She just smiles, and nods her head.
This is going to be great.
