You were sitting outside the Edmonton locker room, leaned up against the wall. You were a social media intern, your job consisting of taking snapchats and posting different things to the Oilers social media outlets. You were currently waiting for your partner to finish with the post-game interviews. The Oilers had just won against Toronto. You were quite happy when the Maple Leafs visited, plenty of cute rookies to swoon over and it was your job to basically watch them.

You weren't watching what you were doing as you scrolled through the oilers snapchat story you had posted tonight when lost your footing against the wall and slipped.

That's when two hands caught you.

A laugh boomed through your ears. "Well careful there." Number 16 of the Maple Leafs was currently holding you upright. You would be lying if you said you didn't swoon.

You giggled, mentally face-palming yourself after it left your lips. "Try not to make a fool of yourself here, Y/N" you thought.

"Well thank you." You smiled as you stood up straight.

"Oh its... um no problem" Mitch replied rubbing the back of his head.

"Are you helping our resident klutz here, Marner?" you heard McDavid say from behind you.

"Oh Shush McDavid, I have that video of you busting your ass at practice I could still post." You smirked.

"I would love to see that." Mitch smiled at you.

"No you wouldn't, Ryan said you could head out Y/N." Connor answered for you, messing up your hair while doing so.

You rolled your eyes trying to get away from his grasp on your head.

"Aye Captain" you mockingly saluted him as you headed for the door.

The boys followed you down the long winding hallway. The boys were behind you, mumbling to one another. You took a sip of your water bottle and raised an eyebrow as they both approached you. Connor wrapped an arm around your shoulders.

"So Y/N are you single" he asked matter of factly.

You almost spit your water all over the hallway. You gulped and looked at him. You suddenly noticed Mitch matching your bright red skin tone. He whacked Connor's arm.

"What was that for?" He said giving Mitch a look, he then turned back to you. "So?"

You rolled your eyes, something you did often with McDavid. "Although it's none of your business, I am." You answered, mainly for the fact that you wanted Mitch to know that you were in fact single.

Connor wrapped his arm around Mitch now as well. "Well, you should come with me and Marns here to dinner."

You thought of the pros and cons of going to dinner with the boys would be to yourself. You quickly decided on going, the cute brunette hockey player weighing heavily on your decision.

"Sure, Why not." You answered shooting a smile at Mitch.

"Great, Meet you two at the car!" And with that Connor was running down the hallway towards the parking lot.

"I'm sorry about him, he tends to try and play matchmaker." Mitch said suddenly as you two slowly walked down the hallway.

"Oh, no worries... wait matchmaker?" Your brain had finally processed what had slipped through Mitch's lips.

"Well it's not every day you meet a cute... Ooof." Mitch's awkward flirting was interrupted by him taking out a bag of sticks that was left in the hallway for transport. You tried to conceal your giggles as you reached out a hand.

"Who's the klutz now?" you smirked.

Mitch rubbed his hands down his face, still remaining on the floor "And now I have proceeded to completely embarrass myself in front of said cute girl."

You smiled as he grabbed your hand. "I do that at least once a week, so I find in endearing." You both laughed and continued down the hallway. You tried to hide your internal girlish screams when you realized Mitch had yet to release your hand from his grip. Not that you were complaining.

You reached the end of the hallway where Connor was standing still doubled over laughing.

Mitch leaned over close to your ear, "About that video you were talking about earlier..."
