I walked down the desolate alley, the silence was unnerving, the surroundings were grim. It had been 15 years since I left this place, vowing to her remains, that I will accomplish the dreams that we saw together. It had be a long journey, not a simple one. Each day was struggle, a battle against odds, a skirmish along obstacles. The road was often travelled upon, yet I felt like the only passenger travelling down it.

I was looking for an old yew tree, where we shared our last moments, we both knew that the life was short, but we never knew that it was that short. Winters came as summers went by, the rains came drenching the scorched earth, leaves fell as snow covered the horizon. Our days were numbered, yet they were  grossly unfair.

"Voila" I exclaimed, as I recognised the oak tree under which we kissed for the first time on a rather fierce afternoon. My hands trailed over the hard wood, looking for a intricate inscription. It was still there on the  base of the tree, withered out but still out there, a mark of our commitment, a symbol of the strength she had in her. A small plaque at the base in her cursive hand read:

"From Today to Last of our breaths
This day to all the days till our heart beats as one
Until our souls are pure and our muscles haves strength
       Until deaths do us part"

Brushing aside tears, I dwelled to those days of past, full of innocence and happiness. An eternal source of elixir of life, pouring from heaven's brink. Alas, ghost of past were still my companions.
