Clary POV
"I'm gonna go to our room, Izzy. I'm sure we'll find Jace and Simon. I need to get changed anyway, meet you in the library in ten?" I smile and walk in the direction of our bedroom. She returns the smile and walks in the opposite direction. When I get to mine and Jace's room I hear something I never thought I would hear, moans. One is Jace's and one is a very feminine moan. I open the door ever so slightly to Jace, my boyfriend speaking to a brunette. "I love you, Zinnia" he said. I both wanted to cry and laugh. I wanted to laugh because of the sheer irony. He told me his belief of "to love is to destroy" which I supposedly tought him was wrong, yet now I realise he was right all along. I lift my hand to my face to find it wet with tears. I have been crying. What I hear next both kills me and overjoys me, "are you single?" the girl - Zinnia - asks him. "yes" he says. He said yes, I was just some unimportant hook-up. I let my brain speak then, "OH OKAY, YOU'RE STILL SINGLE. I WAS JUST A HOOK-UP TO YOU. GOOD JOB IT WASN'T THAT SPECIAL TO YOU EITHER, IT'S NOT LIKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS STOOD HERE OR ANYTHING IS IT?!" at that he just turns round, a blank expression on his face. "You were right, Jace, to love is to destroy. Did I not say what you expected?" I ask sweetly, before running out the room exploding into tears. I run straight down the hall, towards Izzy's room...
