Charlotte's POV
I stood there, blankly staring at the school gate.
5 minutes. 10 minutes.
I broke out of my trance when the breeze caused my hair to fall in my mouth, and I frantically looked around.
"What's the time?"I asked nobody in particular.
I glanced around, hoping to see any students.
Uh...today was the first day of school......Right?
I took out my phone, and checked the time.
It was 9:00. 9:00. 9:00!
I started running.
I don't know how I managed with a sprained ankle, but the humiliating thought that I was late on my first day of school kept me going.
I turned left, with no clue where I was going in the gigantic school.
I was running while glancing on my right, trying to look inside a classroom window.
I caught a glimpse of a bag hung on a chair; which abruptly brought be to stop.
Well, was supposed to.
For some reason, I kept on running.
I looked down at my feet, which didn't seem like they belonged to me.
Crash!
I looked up, surprised.
I saw a boy about my age in front of me, shooting daggers.
"I-uh...," I stuttered. I didn't know what to say.
Those eyes were driving me insane.
For a split second, I couldn't even remember my own name.
My own, freaking name!
Wait a minute, why is he glaring at me?
Shouldn't he be apologizing?
I mean, so should I, but not with that attitude.
I crossed my arms, fixed my face into a glare, and looked at him.
He looked taken back.
"What are you doing?" He asked, surprise obvious on his face.
"What do you think? I'm waiting." I simply answered, looking him in the eyes.
"For..?"
"Your apology,"
"What?! My apology?! Who said I was going to apologize?!"
This jerk! Is he seriously not going to apologize?! Well, hell no i'm apologizing either.
As I was about to say something, a man formally dressed walked in between us.
"What are you two doing out here, when class started 15 minutes ago?" He demanded.
His voice was surprisingly sweet, catching me by surprise.
I was expecting something rough, and deep, but no, it was definitely not the case.
"Uh.."I started, mentally slapping myself for sounding so idiotic.
"Sorry, sir, I was just discussing something with her," the jerk said, smoothly.
He must've lied a lot to the teacher before, he was real smooth.
"Yeah, he was just showing me around," I continued, staring straight at the teacher.
"Showing you around?"
"Yes, sir. You see, I'm new here, and today is my first day of school."
The jerk looked at me in a completely different way.
I didn't know what he was thinking, but it was definitely uncomfortable.
"Ah, I see," the teacher said, smiling warmly at me.
I smiled back, careful not to smile at the jerk, though.
"Okay, follow me, " the teacher said, starting to walk.
I stared straight ahead, completely ignoring the jerk who was trying to catch my attention by waving.
I rolled my eyes secretly; if he had apologized in the first place, I would've at least said goodbye.
