The little girl stood proudly in front of her royal subjects. Every person in the grand hall cheered as their wonderful princess has appeared before them. The King and Queen each hold a hand of hers. A long beautiful green dress trailed as they walk in the middle of the hall. Everywhere the princess looks, smiles are in sight.

"All hail the royal family!" chanted one of her subjects. The rest answered in unison, glorifying the princess and her family.

"We shall now start the ball!" the princess says. She had always wanted to say those lines. The crowd cheered and sweet music starts to play. The room felt lively as ever. The King and Queen raised their glass and take a sip.

The princess wandered around the hall. She was greeted with smiles from both the guests and the palace servants. She goes to the sweets table and gazed on the assortment of candies, cupcakes, chocolate and many others. The princess licked her lips, wanting to take a handful of each. The man on the table laughed at the sight, "Princess, you may take as much as you'd like."

The princess thought of her etiquettes and takes only one cup of ice cream. The coolness fills her mouth with every bite and the sweet flavor dances around her tastebuds. The princess looked at the servant, "This is amazing!" The servant bowed down, happy with the princess's compliment. The princess finishes her ice cream and gives the empty cup to the servant. He bows and proceeds to serve the other guests.

The princess decides to walk around the hall and greet her subjects. She was talking to some fellow royals when two taps on her shoulders caught her attention. She turns around and sees the young prince from her neighboring kingdom. The prince smiles and bows his head. The princess curtsied gracefully, just the way she was taught.

She was surprised when the prince offered his hand. "Princess, may I have this dance?" he asks her. The princess blushes and placed her gloved hand on his. He led them both to the middle of the hall. She placed her left hand on his shoulder and her right on his left hand. The prince placed his right hand on her small waist, and together, they waltz gracefully. She can feel the eyes of the guests on them but her eyes were kept on his.

They swayed and stepped to the sound of the song's beat. Their smiles sparkled and their small laughters were adored by everyone in the room. As the song ends, the prince and the princess let go of each other. The prince holds the right hand of the princess, bows down and kisses the top of it. He then looks at the princess and whispers, "It's time to go, Princess."

The girl opens her eyes. The grand hall, the guests, the King and Queen, and the charming prince vanished before her eyes. The girl smiles and gets off of the platform she's been standing on. Before her is not a beautiful castle, but an abandoned warehouse. She gets the worn out bag which she's been carrying for months and leaves. "Playtime's over," she says.
