Too Many Known People

I saw Shay.

"hi! " I say in surprise.

" Hi! What, you, you read here? "

" its my first day here " I inform

" Oh. First year. Welcome "

" thanks. You read here? "

" no, I'm a janitor " he replied with -_- expression.

" no . Seriously. First year? "

" no. Third "

" Oh. So you practically are my senior "

" yeah. My room's on the upper floor. "

" my room's down the hall " I say with a smile.

" great. It'd be great to hangout with you. "

" got something to look forward to " I say.

Suddenly out of nowhere Gary comes and kisses me on my lips. Unprepared I get taken aback a bit at first. After we pull out Gary said" you already making new friends here? " looking at Shay.

" Oh, umm, not actually. Gary this is Shay. Shay, Gary. " I say. They shake hands.

" so how do you know each other? " Gary asked.

" well that's one her—" shay started but i cut him off saying " we're childhood friends"

"really? " Gary said standing right next to me.

Shay had lifted an eyebrow trying to process what I was saying.

" Our parents were friends in their college times. We were friends since kindergarten. We even danced in the same recital. " I say smiling big at Shay . It didn't take him long to process his own story." and by the way, my mom calls him Alex. She thinks it suits him " another lie I said today.

"  cool. It'll be fun with you Shay. Umm, Rachel let's go. We are gathering at your place. " Gary said kissing me on my forehead.

" I'll be right after you " I say as I see Gary walk away.

" wanna explain the necessity of this story here? " Shay says with his arms crossed.

" well, umm. I was with him that night in the hospital because of his mom who was admitted there. He put me in a cab because he had to stay the night there. But i didn't have much money. So i got off ASAP. And then you know the rest. He still doesn't know a single thing. And i don't want to ruin tonight so better it stays out of discussion for now. " I say.

" you are in relationship with him right? "

" yes "

" then why keep secrets. Stay true. If you keep hiding it, it'll be hard to handle afterwards "

" I will. But not tonight. Maybe tomorrow. I'll tell him for sure. Dont worry "

" ok. Well, that's it I guess. Your friends are waiting. You should go now. "

" yeah "

" Good night "

" good night Shay " and then he hugs me.

That night actually spent with a whole lot talking and chatting. Playing truth and dare was awesome. Though we didn't do much of the dare. We were awake till four in the morning and then we split up. Polly was dog tired. So was Ashley. I mean, what can you expect from lazy girls. It was a hell lot of struggle for them to stay awake so late .

Officially the first day in this college. GOD I am so excited.. I woke up at eight.

Four hours of sleep only!!! I hope I don't sleep in class...

Taking a bath quick enough, I put on a white shirt and light blue jeans, the classic style. I come out to see Polly sleeping still.

"Polly! Get up get up get up! "

" get the hell out you shrill speaker " and she threw a pillow at me.

" jack is kissing another girl. "

" WHAT! WHERE! WHO! " Polly shouted so loud almost falling from her bed. She got up and came running to me.

I couldn't control a bit and burst into laughter.

" tell me it's a joke " Polly said.

" ohk. It's a joke " I say trying to stop laughing.

" you dare not freak me out this way again " Polly warned her. Obviously Jack had become her weakness.

First class. Excited #Flawesome6 + 2 Boys...

We all get inside. Gary and Jack had different classes, so they parted away. We all filled the last benches of our class. All students were talking. We weren't much interested in making new acquaintances because we were so content with our own group.

Soon our English professor, or shall I say cute professor David, as he introduced himself, came in. We had a great introducing session. He then started a bit of our syllabus and soon it was time for our next class.

While changing classes I was talking to Rowena and suddenly my phone buzzed. It was John.

"Hi! What's going on? " I ask

" Hi Rachel. Nothing much. Well, where are you? "

" I enrolled in this 'Ardour' College. Where'd you take admission? "

" What? I'm here too. But I'll join officially a bit later. "

" why? Anything wrong? "

" there's a bit problem. You know I live alone. So coping up with the fees will not be possible. So i have to take up scholarship programmes and every other possible way. "

" Oh. So when will you join? "

" I'm coming today to see what programmes this college has to offer me. I have an appointment with Ms. Rodriguez. "

" Oh yeah. She's our in charge. When will you come? "

" I'm already here. I'm heading that way "

" Umm, fine well just wait after you reach her office. We have a bit time before the next class. I'll just come and meet you "

" fine. Hurry up "

" yeah " and I hang up.

" who was it? " Rowena asks

" John. He's here. I gotta go. Rowena, can you pass it on to Ashley? "

No answer came.

" Rowena! " I looked up to find she had stopped walking. I walked back to her. She stood still. Her gaze fixed at something.

" Rowena? " I ask shaking her a bit.

" Antonio " she spelt.

" What? Your crush? Where? "

" with James " she mumbled.

First Shay! Then John. And now Antonio and James, Ashley's boyfriend . Too much of known faces.
