Friend For Fight. Fight For Justice

"Rachel.?!"

"What? " I asked trying to sleep again.

" your mom is calling " Gary replied.

It was about 3 in the morning. Something made me feel this couldn't be good. So i hurriedly picked up the phone.

" mom? "

" Oh dear! Umm, your, your dad - "

" What? What is with dad? " I said suspecting something bad.

" he - he's admitted to the hospital " and her voice cracked up.

" why? What happened? " I said as my breathing fastened.

And then I learnt all what happened. He was returning from work and noticed three boys cornering a girl. The boys seemed harmful so he went up to help the girl. The boys started to beat him up. The girl had ran to save her life. A police found dad in this situation and came to his aid. The boys fled away seeing the police.

Gary and I immediately ran to the hospital. Mom was trying to hold herself strong. Seeing dad lying on the hospital bed was not at all something we'd like to watch. I was sad and at the same time burning with anger. But first I needed to get dad all well. I spotted a police personnel talking to a nurse. I walked up to him to talk about the boys who were behind all this. Justice. I wanted that so badly right now.

" hello officer, umm can I talk to you for a second? " I said.

" uh, yes " he replied.

" well, I'm Rachel Lawrence. I'm the victim's daughter. "

" Oh, I see. Well I talked to the nurse and she said your father, Mr. Lawrence will be alright within  week "

" Oh. Thank god. Um.., about the incident, the boys who seem to have made this happen, could you tell me how did they look or where did this all happen? "

" the boys, they were some tall boys, they looked all drunk. The Way they spoke. If I hadn't reached in time, they could've done a much greater harm to Mr. Lawrence. " He said.

I clenched my fists by the side. I was full of anger now. These boys are gonna die now.

He continued  " One of them seemed to be a bit elder as the other two were listening to him. All this happened in the lanesdown Street. "

Hearing the description, something familiar clicked my mind. It felt like these boys were the one Shay saved me from that night. What if these boys are them? But what if they aren't.?

" officer, I think I might be knowing these boys. "

" you do? "

" I'd be happy to help you catch them "

" this could be risky. They are very vulnerable. We'd not want you to get hurt. "

" not gonna be my first meet with them though. I can handle it. But you gotta help me "

" then we should get a plan A. S. A. P"

I talked to him and we decided to take them down tonight.

Letting out a deep breath I walked back to dad's cabin to see him sleeping with some wounds band-aided. It hurt so much.

I turned my face away. I couldn't bear seeing him like this. Mom was sitting inside, near him. I walked away to take a seat outside.

"Hey! " Gary said as he handed me a cup of coffee.

" thank you " I replied taking a sip.

" Hard time. We're gonna get through this together. " taking my hand into his.
