Part 16-Memories

"It all started two years ago at the beginning of the school year.."

~Flashback to 2 years ago~
I was walking towards my school called Collège Autry with my best friend Adam, that is also my neighbor, talking about last night's soccer game.

"Man, I am so angry that we lost" Adam said

"We lost?" I said

"Yeah! Didn't you see the game?" He asked

"No because my sister wanted to see some girly show and it was and it was her turn to see tv"  I said, very annoyed with my arms crossed.

"I feel sorry for you bro" Adam said, giving me a one-sided hug.

We got to school, said hi to some friends, and enter the classroom since the bell rang. I sat down in my usual seat next to Adam at the first row. Behind me, was my sis Lila with a vacant seat beside her.

"Good morning class! Today we have a new student. Come on in Alice Waters" my teacher said.

A green-eyed girl with long light brown hair and with a beautiful smile entered the classroom. She wore a white crop-top and high-waisted jeans and boots. Instantly, I fell in love. She looked at me, I looked at her and we clicked. We were meant for each other.

After school, I decided to talk to her, to make my move. I am very shy, so doing this is like facing my fears. But is all worth it for her and I would do so much more.

"H-Hey Alice" I said, stuttering.

(A/N: Looks familiar much?)

"Hey! What's your name?"

"Ace is my name- I mean- My name is Ace"

"You're so funny!" she said, laughing a little.

"So, I wanted to uh... ask you to the movies?" I said.

"I don't like to go to the movies on dates. People don't communicate and I want to know you better" she said. I blushed intensely.

"This is a date?" I asked

"If you want it to be then yes" she said, smirking. I smiled.

"Where do you want to go then?" I asked.

"I know where" she said and took me by the hand.

We ended up at a mini golf course close to school. We played for hours, laughing and getting to know each other.

"She won and that day, we became a couple. We went on very unique dates, I even took her to a drive-in movie theatre and she loved it. Each day, we knew each each other more and we had nothing in common only a few things like how we love superhero shows or our love for reading. We were inseparable, we were true love until..." I said to Marinette.

~Flash back to 1 year ago~

I am riding a bike toward her house to pick her up. Today, August 25, was our anniversary and I am going to take her out to the park. I prepared a picnic under the stars since she loves looking at the stars all night. I knock the front door and her mom opens the door crying.

"A-Ace!" she said, crying in the floor.

"What happened?!" I asked. I hope Alice is okay.

"A-Alice i-is dead!" she cried.

Nononononono NO! This can't be happening! I ran up to her room that I only visited once because she invited me to watch Netflix. When I open the door, I see Alice lying in her bed peacefully. I kneel down and start to cry very hard. I thought a made a lake of my tears.

"Her mom told me she had bone cancer. To be more specific, osteosarcoma. She moved to Deauville to take chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Alice asked her parents to not tell me about her disease so that I would love her like she was and not feel bad for her. She was my other have Marinette, and I lost her.
I am not myself anymore. I changed. I act like I am a bad boy and that I have a cold heart because she is not here to help me be myself again. I feel lost and alone. The moments with her are only memories after all. I can't have her back and I couldn't do nothing about her death" I said, looking at the ground.

"It was not your fault Ace. Don't blame it on yourself. I know you love her and she will always be here" she said, pointing at where my heart is, ".. Always" 

I started crying again. God I miss Alice.

"Can you go please?" I said.

I did not want Marinette to see me cry anymore. She nods and leaves the room. Lunni flew in and gave me a hug. I tried to hug back but I was afraid I will squeeze him.

•Marinette 1•
He told me to leave, but I sat down by the door outside. I know he needs space, but he may get akumatized and I want to prevent that. Eventually, Lila comes back and says:

"What are you doing out here?"

"I am watching for him. He told me everything. You are a strong girl Lila, and I admire that. Staying strong for your brother and helping him. It is very brave of you" I said, standing up. Unexpectedly, she hugs me and says:

"She became my best friend. She was the only girl that would talk to me. I miss her. Thank you Marinette"

"You know I am your friend now. If you need anything, let me know" smiling at her.

Now I see Ace and Lila in another way. It can't be bad to be friends with them right?

This song called "Memories" by Shawn Mendes makes me cry every time. I don't know about you, but I cried in this part. Stay tuned for part 17.
