Sitting at an old mahogany desk was  Miss Josephine reading a book with small wired framed glasses perched upon her nose.

"Have a seat." she demanded without so much of a glance upwards. I did as she told and sat in a faded chair that was once upholstered in an elegant maroon that matched the color her lips were everyday without fail. I sat quietly fidgeting every few seconds. For a few minutes i simply sat there until she dog eared the page in her book and set it face down on the desk.

"Pardon me my child, I was at such a good part I couldn't simply put it down."

"It's no problem ma'am, but" I paused, unconsciously wringing my hands, "may I ask why you summoned me? Did I do something wrong?"

"Of course not my dear, its just that, well... as you know your eighteenth birthday is quickly approaching and I can no longer allow you to stay here per the law so , I have two things for you. One being a letter, I have had it since you were left on my doorstep almost 18 years ago. The second is a photo. I have no address for you simply a photograph" I looked at the simple landscape of a large house on a hill. "There is someone there you need to meet as he will be able to help you with many things that are soon to come your way." She finished with a small sigh.
"I have a question, if I may Ma'am" I quietly announced.
"I will help you in any way I can my child, what is it?" She responded.
"Who is the man I am supposed to meet in this house?"
"Your brother; Grayson."
I softly thank her and take the letter and picture as I stand from the chair. I excuse myself and quickly leave the room. I hurriedly walked to my room to read the letter and think on all that I have learned in the last half an hour.
I closed the door behind me once I entered my room. The walls were a simple pale cream color with a pale blue comforter covering my bed that resided in the far corner of my room under a small window with a view of the sunrise over the ocean in the mornings. A small desk sat against the wall opposite my bed, accompanied by a bookshelf the reached from the floor to my ceiling. A small closet was set into the only wall with nothing on it. However I had recently begun to cover that wall in drawings I had done over the years.
I pulled the chair out from under my desk and began opening the envelope the letter was in and unfolding the yellowed piece of parchment.
My dearest Addison...
