My dearest Addison,
This letter is to tell you a little bit more about yourself and us, your parents, and your brother. We have asked that Josephine give you this letter three months before your eighteenth birthday. I suppose when you read this your time will have come.
I suppose you need a better explanation. When we got the news of your fathers death, I wrote these letters in the event anything happened to me. They were put in a safe where only I and your brother had access. We will talk about him more in a bit though. I wanted nothing more than for you and your bother to be happy and live long lives with each other. I had to separate you two for your own safety. I hope you don't resent me however.
Back to the important details, you need to find Grayson who will have been in the Bernham home for Boys as long as you have been with my dear friend Josephine. Please find him, for he will be able to explain better than I can in a letter. It is crucial that you find him before you turn 18. Don't let anything, or anyone get in your way.
I am running out of time and must end here, Grayson will explain. Just know I love you and your bother to the ends of the Earth.
Your beloved mother,
Katelynne Quinn

After reading the letter from my mother, I sat on my bed for a long while trying to process what I had just read, a seemingly impossible task seeing as how the longer I thought about it, the more questions I had.
Where was I supposed to find Grayson? Does Grayson want to see me? Do I want to see him? Do I remember him? What caused my mother to 'run out of time'? Most importantly; what next?
