A Silver Night

Once upon a silver night,

Once upon a glowing light.

High above in the sky,

Trying to ignore the lie.

Faking it all,

Making me feel small,

Like I meant nothing to you.

I never meant anything to you.

And now I close my eyes,

And whisper a prayer.

As if the pain will all go away,

As if you'll be there.

Once upon a silver night,

Once upon a glowing light.

High above in the sky,

Trying to ignore the lie.

You told me lies,

I told you truth.

I never meant,

Anything to you.

And now I hear you,

Calling out my name.

I'll turn my back,

And hide my shame.

And now you're gone,

And I am free.

But in my eyes,

You're all I see.

And now I close my eyes,

And whisper a prayer.

As if the pain will all go away,

As if you'll be there.

Once upon a silver night,

Once upon a glowing light.

High above in the sky,

Trying to ignore your lies.
