The members froze on their spots. They couldn't hear anything. They couldn't feel anything.

Shownu recovered from the shock first and looked at the doctor with a small smile.

"Ok yeah nice one. You got us on that one. But for real, how's our maknae?" Shownu asked while laughing a little

The doctor's serious expression remained on his face making Shownu stop laughing.

"You are kidding right? Our maknae isn't dead! He can't be!" Shownu yelled

Minhyuk hugged Shownu to calm him down. Kihyun spoke up seeing that the leader is still in shock.

"Doctor please tell us what happened." Kihyun said turning to the doctor

"He died of suffocation. There was too much blood stuck in his esophagus that he wasn't able to breathe." The doctor explained

The members were confused, "Why would there be blood stuck on his esophagus?" Wonho asked while still rubbing Hyungwon's back

The doctor's eyebrows furrowed, "He didn't tell you?"

The members shook their heads and looked at each other. Tell them what?

"He has stage 2 of lung cancer. I'm the doctor who checked up on him before." Doctor Choi said

The members looked at each other. This was all too much for them to take in.

"Did any of you know?" Kihyun asked feeling upset that the maknae never bothered to say anything

Jooheon hesitatingly raised his hand. Kihyun looked at him with frustrated eyes.

"You knew?? And you never bothered to tell us??" Kihyun asked, anger evident in his voice and marched towards the younger but Minhyuk and Shownu was fast enough to stop him

"Hyung no, that's all I know! He didn't explain it to me yet! I accidentally found out when I saw his medicine bottle lying on the floor! He hasn't told me anything else!" Jooheon quickly explained while waving his hands in front of him

"Medicine bottle? He's been taking medication?" Hyungwon asked with a weak voice

"No wonder I always see him drink something after eating." Kihyun mumbled

"You saw him?" Wonho asked

"Not exactly. I've been observing him from afar since I always see him trying to hide something from us." Kihyun explained

"But why wouldn't he tell us?" Shownu asked feeling even more upset

That made all of them think. Did the maknae not trust them? Did the maknae think that he'll be a burden?

That's when they realized that the maknae really is gone. Their lovable, sweet, dorky maknae is gone. They all felt their whole world come crashing down.

Kihyun suddenly turned to Doctor Choi, "Please tell me this is a prank Changkyun is pulling to get back at us! Please tell me that he's awake and laughing at us for falling for his tricks!" Kihyun said weakly, tears starting to well up in his eyes

The members started tearing up and looked down. Some looked at Doctor Choi waiting for him to say 'I can't believe you guys fell for that' but he never did.

Kihyun walked up to the doctor and grabbed his shoulders, "Please tell me I'm right! Tell me he's still alive! Tell me you're lying!" Kihyun yelled

Kihyun was already shaking. His tears streamed down his face like a river. He didn't want to accept the fact that their Changkyun is dead.

Doctor Choi looked away. He didn't want to look at the shorter male's tear-filled eyes. He hated this part of his job. He hated seeing those tearful eyes and hearing these shaky voices.
