Chapter 8

Julin's POV

All the old memories were disturbing me the whole night, I thought of each and every moment we spent together, from our first meeting till he dropped me at my home today. It seemed like everything had just happened yesterday, but years past. All memories flashed in my mind one by one.

(Julin thinking about her past)

It was my first day of college. I dressed up neatly and pinned my hair with a high pony. As I entered the college, most of the boys were staring at me like they haven't seen​ a girl before in their entire life, and it's not new to me, I have seen so many guys like this from my teenage. I know that I have a classy look which drives men crazy and makes other women jealous.

The first day of my college was not much exciting as I expected, it was normal. Godwin was with me, we were neighbours from our childhood and studied in the same school before, and now in the same college, he is the one who understands me better than anyone, he takes care of me like a father, so caring and so loving, we hang out together with our group of friends and do wild parties.

Within a week in our college, they announced about students chairman election, I had an interest to nominate so I enrolled my name in the candidates list. Two candidates were participating in that contest, me and another guy named​ John, I didn't know who he was, all I knew about him was, he was from some other department.

The election canvassing started and my friends supported me during the canvass. Among them Godwin acted like a pillar and supported me in all possible ways. While canvassing, myself and John looked at each other like we were enemies for a lifetime. A silent war took place when our eyes met. Each of us wanted​ to win the election, it was obvious in our actions.

One more week for election, and the canvassing became vigorous, I came to know that some rumours were spreading about me, and I saw some banners posting fake rumours about me. This news spread all over the college like a rapid fire. It was extremely horrible to hear and see those things, my temper rose, I felt like killing those idiots who did this to me. I thought it must be John's criminal mind behind this idea, to win the election. I was intensely angry, and I was like a volcano which was about to erupt. With so much intense anger, I went to John's classroom to explode and devastate him.

I was astonished when I saw John yelling at his friends, I don't know what was going between them, he was facing the opposition direction, and they didn't notice me standing behind them, observing the situation for a while, I  understood that he was yelling his friends for making false statements about me, I was confused by the scene which was going in front of me. I thought it was John's plan initially, but this scene tells me that I was wrong, as these things were running in my mind, I heard John, who emphasised each and every word in a serious tone that he is going to withdraw himself from the election, as he didn't want a victory like this, and turned back, I hide myself and moved from that place in a few seconds.

News came that John had withdrawn himself from election, at that time, I was sitting in the canteen, John came there, he was standing some meters away from me, and I am sure that he wanted to talk something to me, but he felt hesitant to talk, at last he came, and he apologised for those rumours, and mentioned that he was not responsible for those things, and added that "you may not believe what I am saying", I smiled and told him, "No, I believe what you are saying". He was surprised and thanked me, and he congratulated me for winning the election, yeah, I would be the winner since he withdrew from the election.

Then we had a coffee in the canteen, he smiled having a sip from it, he was looking so manly, I was starring him for a long time, only then I realised that I was admiring him, and wondered how did he hide this beautiful face for such a long time or did I fail to notice that. Then he bade bye and left the place.

After a week they conducted swearing-in ceremony in our college, I thought John would not like it, since he missed the chairmanship posting, but to my surprise, he was standing in the front and cheering me while getting the badge from our college principal, I was carried away by his actions, his sweetness, his eyes, his smile, his charm, his attitude. This is the first time ever in my life, I felt like this, it is very new to me, many boys have fallen for me, but none of them attracted me like John did, he was someone who is very unique, very special.

After the ceremony ended, everyone dispersed, I went in search of John, Godwin came in between to tell me something, but I was not ready to listen to him, he always follows me like a puppy, he sticks to me like a pest from my childhood, but I won't even consider him, and I ignore him usually, even though he takes care of me like I am a little child, but I was always annoyed by his actions.

Ignoring him, I went and saw John in the lobby, chatting happily with his friends, I went closer to him, he saw me and said Hello to me, then he asked, "Where is the treat for being elected as chairman of our college?" with a catchy smile on his face, I told that I'll throw them a party the coming weekend and welcomed him, then he told, then let's have fun in the party.
