Chapter 10

Julin's POV

(Julin thinking of her past)

I was returning back home with Godwin, he was so excited and was talking about something that happened in the party, but nothing got into my ears, I gave him a weird look but he didn't stop, he didn't bother about it, he continued blabbering.

I was thinking about John and the rejection I got from him. I was so worried about it, I wonder whether he got the same feeling I have towards him.

We reached home and I went straight to my bed, I switched on and switched off the night lamp beside me, I thought about today's party, it was distracting me, I didn't know when I fell asleep.

The following day I met John in the canteen. I want to escape from his eyesight​, because I don't want to see him and get humiliated again, but fortunately or unfortunately his eyes caught me and Yes!!! He smiled and my heart stopped. How can I act normal around charming guy like John. I could watch him smile all day, no scratch that all my life.

He raised his eyebrows and waved his hand towards me and his lips murmuring a silent 'Hi', He offered me a seat, with some hesitation in my mind I went there and occupied a seat next to him.

He asked me what I would like to have, I told that I am not hungry and I did not want anything, but he compelled me to have something, so at last I gave up and said that I prefer a cappuccino, and he placed orders for 2 cappuccinos.

We started our conversation and a within few minutes, cappuccino, which was prepared with double espresso and steamed milk foam was served at our table with a latte art of heart in it, it's pleasing aroma filled that place and I feel relaxed taking a sip from it, and we continued our chatting.

After talking about our school incidents, which was very funny, I came to know that John is a mischievous brilliant boy in his class and of course he is handsome and hot too.

Then I asked John about his family, his smile and laughter​ slowly began to fade away, he was trying to cover it up with a fake smile, but terribly failed, his face turned in such a way resembling that something terrible happened in the past with his family, I felt the pain in his eyes.

I felt guilty for asking such a question to him now and making him upset, I didn't know how to console him, my heart started to feel heavy by seeing his face like that.

But my brain was trying to figure out what has happened in his past, what in the universe made him worry so much. I was ready to find a solution to his problem and sort things for him. I was ready to go any extend to bring that incredible smile back on his face. I wanted​ to be that girl who supported him. I wanted to take all his broken pieces and mend it together and make him stronger than ever.

At that moment I hear him saying, "My family......." with a little smile is his lips, trying to hide his pain, but he failed miserably, his eyes were fully filled with pain and sorrows. He continued,

"My dad was the backbone of our family, left this world years ago, but myself, mom and my sis are still unable to get over it, we are fully haunted by his memories."

I was watching him silently and I don't even know how to console him, his eyes were filled with tears, which was about to roll down his cheeks, but he bit his lower lip and controlled himself from crying out.

He continued further,

"My Dad..... he is a real life hero...., He is the one who taught me how to face every hurdle in life and how to turn them into success, he was the one who held my hands and showed the world to me"
