I was running late to pick Josephine up and the evening traffic only made it worse. " Dammit ! " I honked my horn " What the hell is the hold up ?! " some idiot driver must have been speeding in the rain because I could see police cars and ambulances ahead of me. I took out my phone to call Alex to see if she could get Josephine for me.

" Hello "

" Hey Alex "

" Hey Kerry , everything okay ? "

" Kind of , I guess there was an accident on the highway so I'm stuck in some bad traffic and I don't know how long before we are moving. Do you mind picking Josephine up for me and I will come to the house and get her if that's okay with you ? " it was my weekend with Josephine, she really didn't understand me not living in the same house anymore but I tried my best to explain it to her little by little.

" Sure no problem , I'm just finishing up and I will make my way to get her. Just let me know when you're out of traffic and okay . "

" Thank you Alex , I will call you as soon as I'm on the move. " I decided to be like any other driver and step out my car to see what the hold up was , I wasn't far from the accident ahead so I took a risk and walked up to see what exactly was going on.

" Please stay behind the line people " The officer said to all the on lookers. Gosh it was bad , one car practically crushed the whole front of their car; another was lying on its side off the side of the road.

" God I hope everyone makes it " a very nervous elderly woman standing next to me said. I moved a little close to the side when the car was flipped over and I saw firefighters and paramedics going down the little hill , off the side of the road you could see another car flipped over. I squinted my eyes to try and get a better look when my phone started to vibrate.

" Hey "

" Hey I just got Josephine, any luck in the traffic ? " I took a step away from the noise so that Alex could hear me clearer on the phone.

" It's really bad , it was a 3 car collision "

" Gosh , I hope everyone is okay. Hey listen don't worry about rushing over, I'm gonna just make dinner instead so you can come here and eat with us. It's been a long day and you only have a even longer one ahead of you with that accident " I started to hear a lot of commotion and it instantly cause me to turn in the direction. They were carrying a very small fragile girl on a gurney.

" Hey wait she looks familiar " I said out loud , I pushed through the crowd of people ooh and ahh at the sight of the woman. 

" Hey wait up "

" Excuse me ma'am but we can't allow you pass . "

" No , I know officer but I know her " I pointed in the direction of the ambulance truck that they began to load her in,
He turned his head.

" Are you a family member? " I paused for a minute. Shit the only way he's gonna let me across this tape is if I tell him yes and I need to know if that's her.

" Yes sir that's my sister ! " I totally forgot I was on the phone with Alex. She was calling me through the speaker.

" Kerry is everything okay ? " her panicked voices echoed through the phone.

" Officer please " I begged him, he lifted the tape and I ran over to the truck as fast as I could before the pulled off. " Wait ! Please wait ! " I got close enough to the truck to see through the glass window. " Samantha! " I began to bang on the glass but they had already pulled off.

I ran back to the officer that I was speaking to " Excuse me Sir but do you know what hospital they are taking her too ? "

" Yes , Saint Jospeh "

" Thank you , is there anyway I could possibly get through this traffic ? " he looked at me and then at the mess of emergency trucks and cars all over the place.

" Come with me " I followed behind him as we walked towards a police car. " Hey Jenkins can you please take her to Saint Joseph's , her sisters was one of the pedestrians in the accident. "

" Sure sir "

I climbed in the back of the police car and we took off. I pulled out my phone and dialed Justine's number " Please pick up ".
