I tardily closed the zip of my backpack, settled it over my shoulders and sauntered to school.
Random thoughts bounced around in my head as I approached what was to be my last year at this institution. Riverdale High. My school. My second home. It was here I learnt the many lessons of life. Happy and sad alike. A few steps into class and I gazed to what had become my many emotions in life. Jessica- Jess for short, was my best friend. My only friend. My guide. My advisor. She was the epitome of homecoming queen material. She was beautiful, tall, with sharp features adoring her face. And there I was, messy hair with a rather dull beauty resting within me. I was never quite sure of myself, the insecure type as you would call. But somehow I fit in, fit in this cruel society called high school. Next was Alex Adner, he is like a brother to me. Cheering me up in the dullest of times with his quirky acts.
And that was all. That's all I had. My friend circle was limited to Jess and Alex and a few other people. I wasn't keen on being popular. Having a good friend rather than fake ones mattered the most to me. School was normal, just like any other day. But I had this buzzing energy in me that Jess noticed and inquired me on it. "Someone's a little cheery today! And what could be the reason for the great Jade Flynn to be so ecstatic?" Said Jess.
"Can you guess?" I replied with a rather twinkle in my eye. "Hmm, can't be something normal, since you're rarely this happy. Are you in love? That's the only thing coming to mind looking at your face." "No! It's better than that"
I replied with a dramatic eye roll. "What could be better than love silly? Wait, of course, you're Jade Flynn. And little Miss Flynn is allergic to all things romantic. Anyways my best guess is Led Zeppelin. Since you're so into their music and stuff and you're lifelong dream is to see them". And, I couldn't hold it any longer.
"Yes! Finally, Oh my god Jess you won't believe it but Led Zeppelin is coming to town. The giants, the amazing, the dangerous Zeppelin are coming to town! It's like I'm dreaming!"
Jess was equally happy, knowing well of my rather quaint obsession with Led Zeppelin and classic rock all together. They gave off an aura that fascinated me and engaged me altogether in their music. Robert Plant's voice reigned through every inch of me. John Paul Jones's bass line was rather enchanting. John Bonham's drums added so much flavor. Jimmy Page. The Jimmy Page, I can't really explain how I feel about him. His guitar skills are nothing like I've heard before and he gives off this enchanting and mysterious aura that interests me more into him. He's different.
