My life in the new town

Chapter 3: So let's find an enemy!

My iPhone started ringing, waking me up, I stopped the alarm although I was still sleepy I needed to go to school so I got up. I hopped in the shower and then I got dressed and went down to the kitchen.

'' Good morning Hilary! '' 

'' Morning mom! ''

'' Did you slept well?'' she asks me.

'' Yes, but I wish today it was Saturday so I could sleep more. '' I tell her while I eat my breakfast.

'' Yeh, that wouldn't be bad.'' 

'' So do you like your new job? '' I already asked her yesterday but she didn't wanted to talk about it so I tought I'll ask her again in case something is happening.

'' You'll keep asking me about this until I'll tell you, right?'' 

'' Well you're right, that's my plan.''

'' I'll tell you but not now, because you have to leave now otherwise you're gonna be late.'' 

'' Okey, but don't forget you'll have to answer me later anyway. Bye!'' I tell her while I leave the house.

While walking to the school I am thinking about my mother. I have no idea what's wrong with her new job but I'm going to find out. I just want to cross the road when a car comes very fast and almost hits me. Everything happened so fast that I couldn't see the driver's face but now I feel relieved that the car didn't hit me. But I'm dissapointed of myself too because I haven't looked weather there was any car coming or not . Even back in Chicago I had this problem when cars almost hit me while crossing the road from now I am going to pay more attention at this. I must otherwise one they somebady's gonna hit me while crossing the road.

When I arrive at the school I see Amanda in the parking lot so I go there .

'' Hi Amanda! ''

'' Hilary! Hi! I just wanted to call you to ask where you are! '' she tells me really excited. Before I could tell anything else she starts speaking again '' I called Sarah too but she's still home, I just woke her up when I called her so probably she's gonna be late. But who knows, maybe she makes it here in five. Anyway she told that she was so sleepy that she didn't even hear her alarm clock this morning.'' she tells me while laughing.

''At least I'm here so you don't have to call me.'' I tell her laughing. Then I look to my clock and I see that in a few minutes Math starts. '' You're right she's going to be late, but so will we if we don't start walking to class now.'' 

'' Yeh, we should probably go inside,we don't want to be late,right? What would teachers think about the new student being late on her second day.''

''Don't be soo mean. I just don't want to make a bad impression,that's all. ''

We go to our lockers,both of us have Math,first class so we hurry to enter the class and take our seats.After a few minutes the teacher started writing on the board when the door opens and Victoria cames in.

'' Victoria, you're late again! '' the teacher tells her looking at her angrily.

'' It's not a big deal!'' she answered while she walked to her seat which was in front of Amanda's.

'' Then can you tell me where were you yesterday?'' the teacher asked still angrily.

'' Yes, I practiced with the cheerleaders.'' she said calmly. 

'' And why did you do that during my class?''

'' Because we need to practice more before the boys match.''
