"Excuse me!"
I winced as someone accidentally shoved me into the wall on their way past. Could they not just ask me to move? I'm a little guy people! You can't just shove me. I hated school and the journey was so short which is so annoying who would want to get to school in such a short time? I looked ahead and saw the sea of people rushing around talking loudly not caring about who heard.
They all gave me a headache.
Time to face the music I guess let's hope I don't die. I took a breath before stepping forward to try and make my way to class. It'll be a miracle if I don't die in here I could already feel the bruises forming where elbows and hands had jabbed me in the side. I saw the doors to my classroom which were covered in posters about clubs and the upcoming school dance. I quickly opened the door and finally...
Quiet.
Thank god, I could feel my brain about to explode. Most of my classmates were either sleeping or drawing in their books. I don't blame them. I took my seat at the back of the class where I couldn't be bothered, teased or punched. This happened a lot.
Tiredly, I looked up when I heard the teacher enter the room with a boy our age. I stared at him curiously wondering who this fresh face in Hell was. Good luck kid only the best survive and I'm barely getting by. He turned and met my eyes he had these bright blue eyes that seemed to pierce right through my soul. His hair was long just past his ears and close to touching his shoulders and was brown with blue highlights. It looks pretty cool.
"Okay" Mr Derret said almost sounding kind "You can sit wherever you like" I looked at everyone staring at him like he was some new attraction in a zoo. I saw him smile "I'll sit at the back next to him" he said nodding towards me.
Everyone turned and stared at me and I turned bright red. Why did he want to sit next to me? The seating plan wasn't allowed to change so he would be stuck with me. "Dylan?" Mr Derret said with a raised brow with a look that said why would you want to sit next to him? He's nice to the new students but a total jerk so me and the others.
The boy smiled "Yeah you said I could sit where I want to and I want to sit at the back" he told him and I had to hand it to him first day here and he'd already kind of talked back. He walked over and sat down next to me "Right" Mr Derret stammered I could tell he was just as confused as me "All of you get on with some revision before your first class".
I looked a the boy who gave me a reassuring smile "I'm Alec" he said "Oh I'm Dylan" I said wait he already knows that "But you obviously already knew that because Derret said it so I don't know why I'm telling you my name again" I rambled. What the hell am I doing? Don't be an idiot Dylan. I smiled awkwardly "I'm going to start that again...Hello" Alec looked amused but not the usual 'what a massive dork' kind of amused "Hey" he grinned "Do you know what we have first? I have no idea" I nodded "We have History its upstairs I'll show you where it is." He gave me a small smile "Thanks man" giving me a little bump on the shoulder "You're welcome...Man" I trailed off awkwardly.
Alec snorted and I went bright red why am I such an idiot sometimes.
