Arabella
My vision was beginning to tunnel and I was fighting it with every ounce of strength I had. I could not let this happen here; just when I thought I was going to lose I saw the red hair at the end of the aisle heading for the door of the store. My focus instantly became crystal clear, I knew Erika and Riley were right beside me trying to ask me questions but I suddenly had a mission. "Stay here." I told them in a voice that sounded more intense than anything coming from my mouth had ever before. I turned around and quickly moved off the aisle as I turned toward the door I slammed into a chest. Looking up I saw the ice blue eyes "Whoa there cheer leader" he said with a smirk. Right now I didn't have time for him. I moved around him quickly and headed for the door.
As soon as I stepped outside I was hit by the coldest burst of air I had ever felt. For a second I forgot why I had come outside, I was frozen to the bone. Then I caught a glimpse of the red hair as it jogged down the street on the opposite side of me. I broke into a run after her. I saw her make a left turn and quickly followed. A dead end alley is where I was. Suddenly, I realized that this might not have been my brightest idea. The minute I saw Lydia I had wanted to hunt her down but now I was here in a dead end with a dark magical. I felt the panic starting to rise within me but it didn't last long. I would not be the one that panicked here. Lydia was only half magical and I was full blooded and from one of the strongest bloodlines ever. I had no reason to fear her.
I stepped forward as she stepped out of a door way. "Where is he?" I demanded, summoning my magic as I said the words.
Lydia cocked her head to the right and studied me for a moment. When she spoke she used that voice that sounded so innocent but I knew better. "Where's who...Belle?" she said with a smirk.
Hearing her say my nickname, the nickname that Garrett had given me set off an anger in me that I didn't even know I had. Before I could even think I had thrown a power ball towards her. She obviously hadn't been expecting it because even though she moved it still caught her in the side and sent her flying into a dumpster. She let out a laugh which grated on my nerves. I stalked towards her. "Don't! Don't you dare play games with me right now?" I yelled. She looked up at me and for a minute I saw just how uncertain she was in that moment but it was gone as quickly as it came.
Her eyes narrowed into a glare "Look at you. It hasn't even been two months and you've already changed so much. The attitude, fighting with magic, the hair. He wouldn't even want you now." She started to get up; once she was back on her feet she looked back at me.
"You're right, I have changed but you're wrong about Garrett. He always knew I had this in me and trust me when I say he'd be turned on right now." I didn't know where that had come from but it seemed true and Lydia knew it too. She crossed her arms over her chest and took a sharp breath.
"When this is over and you're dead, who do you think he'll come running to?" she said with a knowing smirk.
A smirk I was about to knock right off her perfect face. "You. When this is over and if I'm dead he'll come running to you but it won't be because he wants you, Lydia. It'll be to kill you."
Her eyes went wide with shock then she pushed pass me and jogged back to the street. I didn't have the strength to even go after her. I leaned against the wall and slid down. It was cold but I was exhausted from the magic I had used. I put my head in my hands because I wanted nothing more than to cry right now. I had to get myself back together. "Arabella" said a familiar voice as he approached me. Looking up I saw Christian moving towards me, I quickly glanced at his wrist but let out the breath I hadn't realized I was holding when I saw the charmed leather bracelet there. After Lydia had used him my mom and I had decided to charm pieces of jewelry that each one could wear to help guard them from the dark. As long as he was wearing that bracelet then he was just Christian.
