The rumble of the airplane's motor working, looking out the window I noticed that we were so closed to the airport. About 20 minutes later, I landed in California. Walking out of the airport  and breathing in that Los Angeles air I felt calm. I'm safe. I thought to myself. I breathed a sigh of relief. Looking around I found a cab and asked the driver to bring me to a hotel.

Once I got there I immediately unpacked my things quickly and went back outside, wanting to explore LA. The weather was absolutely perfect. There was a slight breeze blew my hair across my face. The sun was shining down on me. I kept staring up at the sky not paying any attention to where I was walking. Suddenly I bumped into someone and stumbled backwards. Before I could fall a pair of hands caught me.
"Ugh...thanks," I told my rescuer a little shook.
"Its no problem, are you okay?" he asked me with concern. I looked up at his face and did a double take. He looked hot, like really hot, gorgeous even. He had beautiful deep blue eyes, soft brown hair and a jaw line that could cut your finger if you touched it. Realizing I haven't answered his question I finally responded.
"Umm, yeah I fine," told him.
"Hi, my name is Nate," he introduced.
"Nancy," I said shyly. He smile at me.
"Well I have to run, but I would like to get to know you. Would it be wrong to ask you for your number?" he asked politely. Wow. That was totally unexpected. I gave him my number anyway.
"Cool, I will be sure to give you a call, bye." he called as he walked away. I stood there smiling, staring at the ground. Then a thought occurred to me. What if he's faking?! What if he isn't going to call me?! All these thoughts spun around in my head.  What if he's just like Victor?! I needed to calm myself down. I quickly rushed back to the hotel, so no one walking by could see my worried face.

Back at the hotel I passed back and forth across the tiny space in my room. Then I abruptly stop and sat down on the bed. I sat thinking about Nate. Suddenly my phone rang ripping me out of my thought. Not bothering to look at the caller ID, I answered.
      "Hello?" I spoke.
"Hey Nancy, its Nate. I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner tonight?" he asked. I was shocked. He wants to go out with me?! I thought to myself.
"Um... sure sounds great." I told him.
"Okay, so do you want me to pick you up around 8 o'clock?" he asked.
"Sure see you then." I told him where hotel was and hung up. I immediately jumped up to get ready. I went through 15 outfits until I finally found an outfit I liked.

I waited in the lobby for Nate to come and pick me up. Thoughts started flowing through my head again. What if he stands me up? What if he is just pulling. Prank on me and doesn't actually want to go out with me? All these thoughts overwhelmed me, causing me to look at my watch every so often. I was about to go back up to my room when I heard the lobby door opens, revealing Nate, holding a bouquet of flowers.
"Hi Nancy. You look great. Oh um here. These are for you." he said handing me the flower, sounding nervous. I took them.
    "Thanks." I said. He nodded.
"Come on, lets go." I followed him to his car and got in. The car ride was filled with awkward silence.
"So, how long have you been in California?" he asked me.
"A couple of hours," I answered honestly. He chuckled next to me.the awkward silence became more comfortable. Before I knew it we were at the restaurant.

Sitting at the table, we looked through the menus thinking of what we want. When we ordered questions started to arise.
"So, what brings you to California? What's your story?" he asked innocently. I didn't want to share the reason why I came to California, I just want to put that past behind me.
"Why so many questions?" I asked jokingly. He shrugged his shoulders and answered.
     "Just wondering." he replied.
"What about you? How long have you lived here?" I questioned him. He smirked at me.
"Now whose the one with all the questions?" he asked sarcastically. I giggled.
"I lived here for about 4 years. I used to visit all the time with my family and I fell in love with the city. So when I turned 18 I decided to move out here." he said. I hung on to his every word. As I got to know him more, I felt more relaxed near him. He is open with me and I enjoyed that. So I can tell that we are going on another date.
