It seems to me that we are floating
Across a barren desert land
Dark as the night sky himself
And hot as the burning sandThe world keeps turning
But I ask you this
Once upon a midnight slumber
Did you ever wish for this?I bet you didn't, for you will see
As clear as a single crystal
This feeling that you feel inside
Is only just a drizzleAnd now you're feeling so much colder
As if you've left the desert sand
And now across the whole wide world
To a different set of deserted landAnd soon, you see, if only you'll wait
This feeling will continue
And nothing you ever do or say
Will stop it from growing inside youYou feel as if you've fallen over
Fallen hundreds of thousands of feet
To the point where you've been crushed
By the pressure at your feetAnd when this nightmare's finally over
I'll tell, and you will see
The light at the end of that tunnel over there
Was made for you and me
