Prologue

During mid 2089 Vontaine Ghut executed a hostile government takeover leaving himself dictator in place of the democratic government. Contained is a young ruthless, cunning, mastermind of a man. In order to take government he rallied the people against them by making laws that oppressed them and then turned around and helped them fight back. The next step was to cause confusion and distrust in the army to do so he assassinated high ranking military officers leaving fresh faces to fill their shoes. With a rebellion going on many soldiers lost faith in the ideals of their country. Demoralized by having to fight their own people and losing their trusted leaders many joined the rebels. After the coup Vontaine declared himself dictator having gained the trust of the people they supported him. For many year Vontaine planned and schemed to take over the world manufacturing many weapons of war and enlisting many for the military after twenty years Canada's military was ranked number seven in the world.
In the year 2116 WWIII broke out with Canada, Mexico, and Russia declaring war against America naming themselves the Coalition. In return America, Germany, England and France declared war against the Coalition they were named the Allies. Many other countries were brought in to fight including Brazil, Italy, Australia, Turkey, and many more. Vontaine struck first with comets. He created a space station that pulls comets off course and throws them at key location. This weaponry rendered missile defense systems useless allowing him to strike anywhere in the world with ease. Using this weapon he struck Washington DC and then twelve hours later he hit New York City killing millions of people and crippling the U.S. government thankfully the president survived with about half the cabinet and organized a counter strike sending every nuke which after the Great Dismantle consisted of a small amount of warheads which did next to nothing to the Repeller shields. Repeller are new generation shields that sends invisible waves to repel outside forces such as bullets, people, missiles, radiation, toxins and any other thing you can think of. The U.S. Seeing this defeat destroyed the Canadian space station. Leaving only soldiers and tanks to do the fighting, war broke out over the American borders and the Russian front.

My grandparents died in The Strike. My grandpa used to teach me all kinds of cool magic tricks how to make pennies and balls disappear and I still remember helping my grandma cook she used to laugh and tell me I had my father's touch for cooking which is none. I'll never forget the day they died it's still as clear as yesterday in my mind. It was a nice Saturday morning the sun was shining and I was having fun with my friends online when They were on the phone with my dad frantically trying to get to their plane out of the city when suddenly the line went dead and my dad dropped the phone and fell to his knees my mother burst into tears and wrapped her arms around him while he just looked stunned. I asked in a shaky voice "w- what hap- penned to grandma and grandpa". My dad just looked at me with a blank expression and said "they're gone" then got up and went to his room with mom on his shoulder. I knew what had happened but I didn't want it to be true but. After that I ran to my room and threw myself under my blankets and bawled my eyes out for hours. For days afterwards my dad didn't eat, didn't sleep, and didn't talk to anyone. A few days after that he joined the military telling my mother this was something needed to do. She just watched him go only telling him to write. That was three years ago I haven't heard from my father in twenty six months when he was reported missing in action.
