Lise
After a long day I was on the road. I went to college, stayed to practice for my double bass test and went to work. After work I went and bought some coffee; now I'm going home. I decided to call my best friend Angel. "Hello." "Hey Angel how are you?!" "Oh my! Lise?! I haven't talked to you in so long." "We talked two days ago." I said cracking up. "Enough for me to miss you and your laugh." I laughed at her comment. "How are you?" "I'm good, with the family, eating. How about you?" "I'm okay, I did the usual, you know and now I'm on my way home." "You sure you are okay?" "Yeah donut worry lol." "Ok thennnn. Any boyfriend?" "Pffff nope. Why would you even ask that?" "Why do you doubt so much?" "Nice game." I said in a sarcastic tone rolling my eyes "Don't roll your eyes." "You know me too well." I said chuckling. "I know I do lol." "Well darling I'll see you later. Lots of love! And tell your mum I love herrr!" "I will donut!" I went to end my call and suddenly felt something hit me from behind hard enough for my body to collapse on the steering wheel continuing with my head. I collapsed back on my seat trying to gain some vision. I felt light headed, dizzy. Suddenly someone came running and opened my door. "Are you alright? Oh my Goodness, Lord forgive me. Hey please are you ok?" "Yes yes I'm fine." I said putting my hands on my head. "I'm so sorry. I-" He stopped talking for a few seconds and then continued "I didn't saw you I was in so sorry." "It's ok, don't worry. Let me just- see what happened." I got out of the car trying to get balance to walk. I walked to the back of my car. "Shot..." I said tears welling up in my eyes. "How am I going to pay for this?..." I said under my breath. "My double bass!!!" I screamed inside my head I quickly ran and opened the trunk. A wave of relief hit me when I saw my instrument in one piece. "Oh thanks God." I said. I cleaned my tears before turning around. "Are you ok? I'm going to pay for all of this I promise." He said still clearly stressed. "It's fine-" He quickly stopped me. "No... Miss this was my fault, I'll pay for it. Can I have your number so I can call you to give you the money? I'll call a tow truck to pick up your car. I'll get it fixed. I'll pay for everything." "I umm, sure ok." I took a pen and a notebook from my car and wrote my phone number and handed out. "Do you need to go to the hospital? Or some painkillers? Oh I know a place close by; they sale food and medicine." He was really stressed. "Can you walk? Do you-" "Hey hold on, slow down. I'm ok, just some headache." "Oh no... You have a bruise..." "I can walk..." "I'll call the tow truck and he'll come and take both of our cars. We can go to the Dinner." "Sure." I said pushing out a smile. He made his call and we walked to the dinner. "May I know your name?" "My name is Lise. Wait! My double bass!" I jogged to the car losing my balance a bit. I took my bag and my double bass and walk towards him. "You play music?" I smiled "I do..." he nodded and smiled. We got to the dinner. He got me some medicine. "Do you like coffee?" "I love it." I said smiling. "Great." He asked for two coffees. "I'm- im so sorry..." i said looking down to his hands. "It's fine.. really" I said placing my hand on top of his. Extremely quickly taking it off by the shyness. "I-umm sorry." "Do you have anyone to call to?" I sighed. "You don't. I can drive you home. If you don't mind." "How do I know you won't kidnap me?" "That's up to you, to believe me or not." "I guess I'll have to figure it out." He smiled clearly happy with my response. He looked away for a minute or so and I looked at his face, studying it. I haven't realised his hazle eyes, his beard and brown hair. Suddenly his cellphone went off. "Hello. Yeah I'm sorry I'm so late. Yes it's a her. I got into a car crash and I'm in the dinner with her. Ok I'll see you later." Waoh. 'It's a her.' Great... "Girlfriend?" I asked slightly smiling. "No, my mum. She was worried." He said chucking when he said 'no'. The waiter came and handed us our coffees giving him a weird look. He chuckled. "What sugar?" "Diet." He handed out a sugar. "Thanks." I prepared my coffee and started drinking it. "Mmmm." I said when I took the first sip. "This coffee is the best coffee in London." He said proudly smiling. "I love it." "I would love to bring you here some other time." He said looking me in the eye. I quickly looked away and nodded giving him a warming smile. He looked down. "You know, your eyes shine when you talk about music... Its amazing. I mean they always shine, it's so weird but when you mention music it's, heartwarming." I looked down and blushed because I do, I do love music and everything about it. I nodded. "I do, i do love it. Everything about it." "I can tell." He said smiling. "Thanks for this, really. I'm sure you should be in your house, where someone is waiting for you. So thanks you." "No one is waiting for me, just my mum. And you are very welcome." "I never got your name." I said. "My name is Andrew." He said smiling. "'Nice to meet you Andrew." I said smiling. "What do you do for a living?" I asked. "I work in a big company, my dad started it years ago, we help people around the world, with anything They need, even shelter." He said smiling as he clearly thought about it. "You like it don't you?" "Yeah, it's really great." He said looking me in the eye. And once again I looked away and drank my coffee. A few minutes later he insisted to pay the bill so he did. He called a cab and took me to my mum. He got out and told the man to wait. "I'm really sorry again..." he said. "Don't worry.. It happens." I said smiling. "Thanks for everything." "That's the least I can do." I moved my head no and chuckled. "What?" He asked chuckling too. "Nothing." I said. "You should go inside. It's late." He said. I nodded. "Get home safe." I said. "I will. Bye Lise." "Bye Andrew."
