Nights turn into days, and days turn into months, and finally, months turn into years and I was still without Odysseus. As the years passed, I was finally able to get rest at night, but nothing wasn't the same. Everything ached within my being to touch him and have him hold me at night, showering me with the love that I feared I would never experience again. I would watch each day as Telemachus grew into a young man and mourn the loss of his father tremendously because Odysseus wasn't here to see.
One day he came up to me after a long day of school and asked, "Did dad abandoned us? The kids from school said he disappeared after the end of the Trojan War... Why hasn't he come back? W-w-why would he leave us?"
"No dear, do not talk such foolishness. Your father would never want to abandon us. It's just the tragedy of war that has him elsewhere, instead of the comfort of his home. However, I have hope that he shall return to us and complete our family once and for all, and you should have hope too.
"It's been ten years mom."
"Shsss... time does not matter; he will return. He must," I said emphasizing on the word must, so he would know not to question my judgement
"Okay mom," he said unhopefully and left me battling with my thoughts and sorrows
