James found Riley when he flew out from Texas, and really, the reason he was coming to see her was, well heart wrenching.
He had been fighting with his emotions, battling his mind, before settling on the fact that he loved Riley Lilith Worsnop. Maybe, if he had told her before he could have saved her. He had visited the house four hours after she had commited suicide.
It had been too late.
There was no pulse, and her skin had gone a light blue. Her cheeks had light, clear marks, indicating she had been crying before her death. He had held her close to him, and she was like ice against his warm chest. His sobs wracked his body, making him tremble and shake. His face was red and he choked when trying to breath. He felt as though he was being suffocated, someone had pushed him in icy water and was holding him down by his head, making him swallow the water.
Trying to kill him.
Dragging him into the darkness, along with Riley.
He had called Danny soon after, and he heard him scream no on the other line.
The whole thing was gut wrenching for the entire band, Riley's friends and band, and the entire Worsnop family.
Danny felt as though his heart had been ripped out of his chest, and was being ripped piece by piece. He was angry at his sister for being so selfish, bringing this depression among many. She would have been able to talk to him or James, hell, it would've been nice for her to even talk to a stranger about it. Anything was better than having her be wiped from the face of the earth as it seemed.
He would no longer be able to go to England with her to visit their mom and dad. They wouldn't be able to go to a water park with her. They wouldn't argue anymore, they wouldn't share happy memories.
And the most heart breaking thing.
He wouldn't be able to interogate her boyfriend, see her with her fiancé, or see her in a big white dress, walking down a isle surrounded by pews and people who loved and cared for her.
Her true love waiting at the end of the isle.
But it would never happen to her.
All because of her stupid decision.
But hey, the world can-and will-do terrible things. And it won't give a fuck if you're ready for it or not.
It'll crush you like a bug, making everything crash before your eyes. Danny was hating it now, living without Riley seemed... empty. Weird. Her smart remarks wouldn't be heard, or her sweet voice that was music to his ears when she had been alive.
They had been planning the funeral since she had died. Wich had been a week and three days ago. She would be clothes in the dress she was found in, and all her piercings were still going to be there. They didn't want to take away what had made her, well her.
Her coffin was a glossy dark wood with a cross delecately etched into it, and on either side of it it would have a big arrangement of red roses in the middle, white hydrangeas, and white hibiscus flowers all around them.
The AA guys all agreed on wearing suits, something they rarely wore. But this was a important event to all of them.
Danny had taken the responsibility to send all the letters to the deignated owners. They were sent to San Diego, other parts of Los Angeles, Texas, Sheffield, Australia, England, Chicago, Baltimore, and a few other places. She had people everywhere really.
"The funerals tomorrow Daniel, shouldn't you get some sleep?" His mother asked tiredly.
"Im just, working on something." He said rubbing his tired striken eyes.
"Well, don't stay up that late. We have to wake up particularly early." She said laying her hand on his shoulder.
"Okay mum." He murmered.
"I love you Danny, sweet dreams." She said with kissing her sons cheek.
"Love you too, mum." He replied kissing her cheek also.
Mrs.Worsnop shuffled out of the room and into her own where her husband was already sleeping soundly. She took off her slippers and crawled into bed, turning out the lamp that was set on the night stand. She wrapped her arms around her husbands torso and layed her head on his chest, falling asleep quickly, thinking about where her daughter might have gone.
Danny sat at his desk, frustrated. He tried writing a speech, but he couldn't. It was as if someone had cleared his mind of all the things Riley and him had done and the laughs they had shared. He rubbed his temples and sighed deeply.
He decided the best thing to do was go to sleep, hence it was one, almost two in the morning. He turned out his light and blindlessly walked to his bed and layed in it. His eyes welled up with tears and as he tried blinking them away, he began crying. He silently let the tears fall as he fell asleep dreading what was coming.
Today was the funeral, and everyone was dreading it.
Pierce The Veil, Of Mice And Men, the rest of Asking, Suicide Silence, We Are The Fallen Angels, Bring Me The Horizon and Hannah, Jenna McDougall, All Time Low, Crown The Empire, Jolie and Kena, etc. flew in from the U.S to the funeral home in England.
Hannah was now seven months, and had decided on a name for her baby girl. Elizabeth Riley Sykes, and both her and Oli loved it.
"Today, we are here in the memory of Riley Lilith Worsnop, who died at the young age of Twenty years old." The priest said as everyone stood up.
He continued on with the ceremony, and now people could stand up and say a few things about Riley.
People went up and said things about Riley, mostly about expieriences with her and how they met. CTE and PTV talked about meeting her for the first time on their tour, "The Reckless" about four months ago.
Bring Me talked about her, and Hannah went up seperatley.
Then, at last, Asking Alexandria. They dreaded talking about her. Not for bad reasons, but because it hurt too much. She was Cameron, Sam, and Danny's little sister. James and Ben loved her, and it hurt.
This was like a slap in the face.
The she was really gone, and this was not a nightmare.
They all went one by one to see her, and say their last goodbye.
James was the last one and almost broke down in sobs when he saw her. He grabbed her limp lifeless hand and rubbed his thumb over her knuckles like he would when she was sad or they were having a serious coversation. He took a deep breath and bent down.
He kissed her cold lips and let tears slip from his eyes.
