What did I do wrong? Did I hurt his feelings? Was I wrong to think he'd betray me? Is he mad because of that? Why didn't he want to tell me? Why did he just run out like that?

Jungkook dropped his head, a frustrated sigh leaving his lips. His hands run through his messy hair, wondering what went down twenty minutes ago and why he hadn't managed to stop it from happening.

What did I do wrong? If only he could've told me that!

His eyes glanced at the clothes Taehyung left on the carpet, neatly folded even in his angry state.

He shouldn't be too far from here. Should I go after him?

He made it clear he doesn't want to see me again but how can I let him go freely, with my deepest secret in his memory? I need to find him. I need to know if I can trust him.

Jungkook grabbed his jacket from the hook and rushed outside, feeling soft raindrops land on his skin. The sky was grey again meaning it was going to start raining even more soon. This season in the kingdom was known as a cold and stormy one. Why would Taehyung want to live in that when he had a house all warm and cozy?

Jungkook suddenly slapped himself.

I never told him he could stay longer than one day. I technically only took him in for the storm. Did he think he wasn't welcome anymore after this morning? Gosh, I'm so stupid.

Jungkook ran all the way to the hay where he last found the boy but he wasn't there. Jungkook wandered the streets looking for him, occasionally stealing someone's wallet when they weren't looking.

Isn't it funny? I could get thrown into jail for being a thief, but I would get killed for being gay. The system is so fucked up.

A group of boys drew the man's attention. They were gathered around something in a narrow and deserted street. The scene looked quite familiar to Jungkook and he quickly walked closer, fastening his pace when he noticed they were the same boys from yesterday, the one that chased Taehyung. They were kicking something and sobs resonated in the narrow street Jungkook realized.

"Hey!" He yelled, now full-on running. They turned around frightened and split up, running in different directions. Jungkook came to a halt to the something they were kicking, identifying it as a broken and crying Taehyung.

Jungkook gasped and knelt down, picking him up bridal style, careful not to hurt the other too much. Taehyung's sobs got louder once he opened his eyes, seeing it was Jungkook and not one of the guys. "J-Jungkook", he croaked out, blood dripping from his nose onto his lips.

Jungkook quickly shushed the other, knowing his split lip but be hurting by talking. "It's okay. It'll be alright." He spoke, caressing the boy's bruised cheek as he walking him back to his house.

Taehyung eventually passed out in his arms, fatigue, and pain catching up with him. Jungkook stared down at the boy in his arms, wondering why those boys would want to hurt such an angel as Taehyung.

The hearth was out and the room had turned cold. Jungkook placed Taehyung on his bed and stripped him from his wet clothes. Jungkook emitted a soft gasp and hesitantly traced the outlines of the blue and purple bruises forming on Taehyung's stomach and chest.

Clenching my fists, the man promised to find those boys one day and kick their asses. Noticing Taehyung was shivering Jungkook quickly dressed him into a big shirt and tuck him into bed, placing a hot mug of tea on the nightstand in case he would wake up and feel thirsty.

Jungkook went back to the living room and lit the fire, letting his clothes dry on the carpet next to the hearth. He sat down and heard the crackling of the fire, sending a warm glow into the room.

After an hour of constantly pacing around in the room, he looked up once he heard the door creak. Taehyung peeked from the doorway, the big shirt falling off his shoulders and barely stopping mid-thigh. He would have looked like an angel if he didn't have a blue eye, bruised cheeks, and a split lip. He limped badly into the room, the silence between them stretching on.

"Are you okay?", Jungkook rushed over to the boy in case he'd fall. Taehyung nodded his head but it didn't seem convincing. He cast his gaze away when Jungkook kept staring at him. A faint blush spread across his face and he took a tentative step back.

"T-thank you", Taehyung stuttered, looking at his hands, "You didn't need to do that".

"And get you killed?", Jungkook protested, "Why would I let that happen?"

Taehyung shrugged and rubbed his foot against the floor, not wanting to look Jungkook in the eye. The man emitted a sigh and awkwardly rubbed his neck.

"Look, I might not have said it before, but you can stay here if you want. You don't need to live on the streets anymore, you can stay and live here".

This seemed to grab the boy's attention because Taehyung's gaze snapped back to Jungkook, seemingly shocked. He opened his mouth, but before he could say anything he started coughing harshly. Jungkook rushed over to him when his knees buckled.

"You're not okay", Jungkook pointed out, "I think you got a fever".

His forehead was burning up while his body was shivering like crazy. He sneezed and sniffled, crossing his arms to keep himself from shivering.

"Back to bed", Jungkook declared, grabbing his arm and dragging him to the bedroom. Taehyung struggled a little but he was too weak to actually protest too much. He eventually let Jungkook tuck him back into the bed.

"You can give me your answer later. The offer still stands", Jungkook smiled, grabbing the empty mug of tea and walking back out.

Taehyung didn't give a reply as he snuggled further into the pillow, curling into a ball. Jungkook felt himself smile and he closed the door before going back to the kitchen.

Why do I feel like this? Why am I smiling so wide?
