Warning: Odd vocabulary that includes body parts.
Because last chapter featured the female body, this chapter will feature the male body since there are lots of differences.
Setting up the skeleton is basically the same. The only difference is that the shoulder circles are slightly bigger.
(1) Even though the female chest has breasts, the male chest is still broader. On the female model, we drew the 'W' and it curved in. On the male model, the 'W' does not go in, unless you are drawing a skinnier male. It also does not go out, unless you are giving the character a belly.
(2) Obviously, the male body has some junk between his legs. Keep this in no d when posing them, because, from my experiences, it is uncomfortable to have that junk squished. Men usually stand with their legs farther apart. They usually sit with their legs apart, and I have yet to see a man sit with his legs crossed and be comfortable. Keep your poses realistic!
Then we add the muscles. Generally, a male character will have more muscle than a female one. Not in all cases, but it's pretty normal for this to occur.
(1) There's more upper arm muscle than the female model. It actually looks like he's flexing, but he's not. It's just body shape.
(2)The chin is regularly flat. On the diagram to the side, ignore the expression and little text, you can see how I manipulated my sketch. Soon, a tutorial on male faces.
(3) The junk again. Notice the gap, remember the gap. Also, the hips don't change size like the female model.
Also, there's no number, but the specs as well. Men don't (normally) have breasts, but they do have pecs. Also, don't forget the nipples. They may not be as 'important' as the female body, but I've never met somebody who was born without a nipple. Some people have them surgically removed, sure, but then there would be a scar. So, unless it's your style to not draw them, draw them. It's awkward, I know.
This was so uncomfortable to write but I hope it helped xD
Ciao!
