Warmth seeped through my body from hers, her legs dangling off of the edge of the couch as she shifted to fit her head into my lap. "I love times like this." I gently flickered my gaze from the TV, looking down at her as her blond hair spread across my legs like a fan. Her green eyes were staring at the ceiling, thinking. "Everyone always makes such a big deal about doing something." She shrugged as best as she could, folding her hands across her stomach. "Sometimes it's better to not do anything at all. Just, slow down for a minute. Take everything in." I felt a smile tug at my lips, gently running my fingers through her hair. "If you're with the right person, silence can be the best thing. Just sitting together, not speaking, just, breathing. Taking it all in." I let out a gentle laugh through my nose as I curled a string of her hair around my finger, my tone teasing. "Since when did you get all deep?" She scoffed gently, her eyes flickering to my face as she playfully hit my shoulder. "You have to ruin the moment don't you!" She huffed before looking back to the ceiling, seeming to ignore me now. I sighed gently, running a hand through her hair, the motion soothing. "I think you're right though." I heard her laugh, her tone indignant. "Jerk face."
