Author's Note: This is a fanfiction based off of the trilogy Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I do not own the series. Any characters or settings in this book that are in the series belong to Ransom Riggs. Danke. 🙂

Another A/N: This story starts out during Hollow City, when Claire & Fiona are at Miss Wren's menagerie, and ends shortly after Library of Souls ends. (My finger slipped and I almost wrote Library of Soils. 😆) I actually cried myself to sleep when I found out about Fiona falling off a cliff, and I found that the only thing that soothed my soul was to imagine how she survived. So I created this story.

Fiona's POV:

I watched as everyone left the menagerie and started heading down the mountain. I was sad that I wouldn't get to go with everyone, but I had to stay. Claire was sick and couldn't travel, and Miss Peregrine was trapped in bird form and needed help immediately. It was the only choice I had to stay behind. And besides, they'd only be gone a short while. Three days at the most. I'd miss everyone, but I'll survive.

I walked over to where Claire and Addison were and sat down beside Claire.

"Want any fruit to eat?" I whispered in her ear.

"An apple would be nice," she responded.

I walked about ten feet away and started growing an apple tree, with gala apples, which by now I have learned are Claire's favorite kind of apple. I took two apples from the tree and handed one to Claire.

"May I have one?" Deidre asked.

I nodded my head yes and put an apple in the emu-raffe's mouth. Claire put her hand that she was holding the apple with behind her head and started eating. I took a big bite out of my apple too. It was nice to have a juicy, delicious apple after what had happened in the past two days. After I ate the apple, I realized that I was quite tired. I went over to a patch of flowers and dozed off.

Something had woken me from my slumber. Judging from the position of the sun, I was asleep for about two hours. I looked around to see what had woken me up. Nothing looked out of the ordinary, that is, until I looked at the chicken coop. Apparently, an egg had went off.

I went to the place where I had come up the mountain to see if everyone was already gone or still making their way down the mountain. Instead, I saw people near the bottom of the mountain, coming up.

I could see, even from such a great distance, their milky white eyes.

   Wights.

Now, I'm not much of a talker, at all, but when I saw the wights I turned around and informed everyone at the menagerie as loud as I could, but so the wights couldn't hear me from the bottom of the mountain. It would be bad if they knew anyone was here.

   "Wights are coming!" I exclaimed.

I ushered all the peculiar animals and Claire to one spot near the trees and started growing brush around us. When I was sure that they would never find us, I stopped growing the brush. If I didn't stop growing it, the wights would eventually get up here and know we were here.
