Losing All Sense of Control

Chapter 8

After Sherlock agreed to help me, the three of us traveled to the Avengers bunker, where everyone was in the living room next to the kitchen. Well, everyone except Coulson. They all welcomed us back and some were amazed at meeting the one and only Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock never liked a lot of attention. Well, let me rephrase that. He never liked to socialize. It was kind of funny to see him in the middle of a bunch of superheroes fangirling over him instead of a bunch of girls.

"Are you not going to save him?" Lieo said as she came walking up behind me. I shook my head. "Good... neither am I."

"So... what's it like having a consulting criminal as a father?" I asked her.

"Crazy."

"That's it? That's all you have to say?"

"Yep."

"Well, then..." I said and snuck away from the sociopath and ended up running into Blake. "Blake?"

"Yes?" she answered.

"Why are some lightsaber blades white?"

"White? I don't know. I only know that Kylo kept one hidden and didn't want anyone to find it. He was always so protective about it, never let anyone go into that room. I never knew what was so special about that lightsaber."

"It was mine." I said and pulled it off my belt. "At least that's what he told me. I just don't know why it was white."

"It's something you would have to ask him. Sorry I couldn't help you."

"Thanks anyways Blake." I said and walked away and sat on the couch next to Bucky. "So... do you and Seb ever play pranks on people by pretending to be each other?"

He chuckled at my question and said, "No, it would be kind of difficult with my arm but it is something that we've talked about. It sounds like a lot of fun though."

"Yeah it would be. So how's life as an Avenger?"

"It took awhile for everyone to warm up to me. Especially Stark, but it's pretty great so far. How are you? I heard that you ran into trouble when you went to London."

"I'm fine. I'm just glad that Seb and Sherlock are safe. That's what had me worried."

"So what happened?" he asked me but before I could answer, Coulson stormed into the room.

"Myra, what did you do?!" Coulson said angrily while he kept storming over to me. The room fell silent and I stood up.

"What do you mean, 'what did I do?'" I asked taking cautionary steps back.

"You created a way for them to travel to other universes? My mission for you was to only get information about Moriarty, not work with him!" he yelled and came face to face with me. "What the hell were you thinking?"

"Saving my friends that's what! I had to and I didn't even know I could do what I did. I know it's bad but you can't expect me to let them die." He didn't say anything so I continued. "Look I know that you might not care about them as much as I do but I rather have them safe than me."

"Well what about the rest of the worlds?! Now that Moriarty has your power, he and the others will take over all of the other worlds. Yes, you saved your friends, but at what cost? Millions of lives will be lost because of what they are planning."

"How do you know what they're planning?"

"I didn't say that I knew what they were planning."

"Yeah but you said that they'll take over the other universes." I said starting to realized that something wasn't right and so did the others. "Who are you? You're not Coulson. He wouldn't betray S.H.I.E.L.D, even though it doesn't exist anymore, but that's besides the point. He wouldn't do that. So who the hell are you?"

"Truthfully? Someone who cares for you dearly but cannot be revealed to you at this time."

"Why not?"

"When the time comes I will tell you but for now, do not harm him because he is in fact, your Director Coulson. Don't worry, you'll be seeing me soon."

After he finished Coulson fell on the ground unconscious, "Guys, call the med bay." Tony ordered.

"What the hell was that?" I asked. "How did they control him?" I looked at everyone but they looked as dumbfounded as me. "Any why was it mad at me for helping Moriarty?"

"It could've been a cover up. You never know." Clint said.

"But let's say it wasn't, who's another person, who's not someone we know already, that wouldn't want me to help them? Wouldn't anyone? No one wants their world to be taken over by a consulting criminal and a galatic order. But this one's different, it really care. It needs to be someone close to me, someone..." I trailed off realizing who it could be. BUt that's impossible.

"Myra? Are you okay?" Seb asked as I started to walk towards my room.

"What? Yeah, I'm fine. I just need to go check something out real quick. I'll be back."

Seb's POV

"Lance. What's going on inside her hand?" I asked him, hoping that he could get past Myra's mental shield.

"She knows." he said.

"Knows what?"

"The person who took control of Coulson. It's... it's her mother."

"What? But her mom died!"

"Apparently not."

"I'd suggest you go after her. You don't know what she might do." Rylan said to me. I nodded to her and ran after Myra.

Myra's POV

Once I got inside my room, I immediately started to pack my duffle bag to go find my mother. It had to be her. No one else wouldn't want me to use my powers like that, but how is she alive? "Seb! Do stop loitering by the door and come in." I yelled and I heard the door open, then close. "So what..." Seb walked up behind me. "How is she alive?"

"Who?"

"Don't play that Seb. Lance told you, I can feel when someone is in my mind." I said and he looked down. "You told me she died. You said that she died trying to protect me. So either you've been lying to me this whole time or my mom is magically back from the dead. Just tell me the truth. I think I deserve it.

Seb sighed and said, "You definitely do. It was your mother's idea. She knew that she needed to leave you because it was her job."

"But she's supposed to be there for me. She's my mother. Why'd she leave me with that horrible human being that just happens to be my father?"

"She had to. You mother worked for an agency that monitors all the worlds, called SEKAI. She went back to prove that you weren't a threat. They didn't believe her, maybe it's because she was your mother but I don't know. They left you alone but still monitored you. Your mother didn't want them to. Besides, you didn't even know how to use your powers. SEKAI stopped monitoring you after awhile but as soon as they hear that you obtained your powers, they'll come looking for you."

"Should I be worried about them?"

"That's a question that I think you should ask your mother. SEKAI is protecting the universes, but at what cost. Who knows what they do to the enhanced people like you. For now, I'd suggest that you stay here, for your own safety. We don't know what their plans for you are."
But I need to find my mom. I need more answers, and like you said, I should ask her. I'm going to go find her. Do you know where she would be?"

"You can't leave Myra?"

"Seb, you know that I need to do this. It's been seven years since I've seen her. I just found out that she's alive and you're telling me that I can't see her? Who cares if they're looking for me. Who isn't. All the freaking universes are looking for me but that's not going to stop me."

"We can't risk it again. Just promise me that you won't do anything stupid."

"You know I can't promise you that."

"Then promise me this. Tell me. Tell me what you're going to do and I'll help you. That's my promise to you. So promise me."

"I promise."
