fire and ice

somehow existing together without destroying each other

MILLIE STARED IN SHOCK at the scene that was before her. A house, burning. Flames licked the walls, turning the beautiful white home into a charred, broken disaster. The girl's brown eyes widened and she raced forwards to try and stop the flames from consuming everything. She didn't know what had happened. One minute, she had felt her skin grow hot, so she leaned against the house in hopes that the cool cement and the shade of the roof would relieve her from her discomfort, and the next thing she knew, the house was on fire. She stood a few feet from a large flame and reached out, as if she could grab it and it would cease its destruction. Suddenly, she felt a blanket of cold wrap around her, and the air temperature around her seemed to drop. Millie looked around, terrified at what was happening and extremely confused. She glanced down at her numb hands, seeing that they were turning blue. Her breathing became quicker and shorter. She felt dizzy, and then everything turned black.
