The next day a woman comes and picks me up and takes me to a room that I have never been to before. It smells really weird and at the same time good. Then for some reason another person comes in and as the lady lies me down the other person grabs me, holding me down so that I can't move! It is very uncomfortable! Then they put something it to my skin and then I was falling asleep.
When I woke up in the I saw the same woman staring down on me waiting for me to wake up. Then she carefully picked me up and took me back to my cage. I started to purr as she started stroking me very gently murmuring soft words to me that I didn't understand. I tried to stand up and stretch but when I did I felt a strange agonizing pain in my stomach. It was very sore and it hurt every time I tried to move. It felt like a bee was stinging me in the stomach, so I stopped moving altogether. I put my head between my paws and went to sleep.
I awoke to the another lady opening my cage. I tried to meow at her but nothing came out.
"What's wrong little one?" She asked me.
I knew it was useless to respond. Humans don't communicate the way that we do. I knew that there were ways to talk with humans but she wasn't special enough to use those special skills for. I looked at her and then at my water bowl. It seemed like she understood what I wanted. She moved the water bowl closer to where I was lying. I raised my head and started to drink. I felt worse than before and when I was given food, I didn't eat. I wasn't hungry.. The lady went to go and pet me. but instead of letting her I went and licked her hand. Then I went yet again back to sleep.
The next day when I woke up, the pain was not quite as bad. I could finally stand up without the excruciating pain. I was given back my appetite, so I stood up and pushed myself toward my food bowl. I started to chow down. I finished eating and went back to my bed. I then realized my bed, my only home I was comfortable with, was torn and worn out from how many times I slept in it. I focused back upon sleeping, curled up and went to sleep. The next few days were like that, only getting up when I needed to and then going back to sleep.
I was awakened, one morning, by a lady opening one of the doors to my cage. I started purring because I didn't get very much attention anymore. She came and picked me up very carefully. Her hands were very gentle and the air around her felt kind. I really liked this person, or so I thought. She walked with me to a room that I had never been to before. She held me down on a table. Then she called out to someone,
"Bridgette, will you bring me one of the carriers? One of the kittens is going home today!"
"Sure! Just give me one minute to unfold it." Was the reply.
I was feeling very playful. I tried to turn over and swatted at the woman's hand that was holding me down.
"Okay, okay. Don't get impatient little one. You are going to go to a new home today!"
I didn't really pay attention to what she was saying but I could tell from the excitement in her voice that something magnificent was going happen to me.
Another lady soon came into the room, holding something that I had never seen before. She placed it on the table and I came to inspect it. I smelled all the way around it but it had a dull smell that smelled a little like a paper that I had smelled through my cage as a lady came by with it. Then I stood up on my hind legs and looked into the giant thing.
I then did a thing that any cat would have done and got into a situation that was not at all fun. It was a kind of situation that would go well with: "Curiosity killed the cat".
I jumped into the thing to further inspect the inside of it and that is when I got trapped.
