~Chapter One.~
-11 years old-
The hair on the back of my neck stood with anticipation as my Mother and Father talked to someone in the study. Edison was right at my side listening in. "What do you think is going on?" My 11 year old brother asked me. He had gotten taller and more muscular since the shift. "I dunno." I said shrugging. I was still short and weak, I didn't go through the shift like everyone else.
"Use your hearing to see what's being said!" I said happily. "I don't know how yet." Edison replied sadly. "Oh well. You'll learn!" I reassured him and patted his shoulder. Mother walked out of the study with a wet face and shaking hands. "Mommy. Are you okay?" I said standing up straighter and looking up to her. "I'm fine Emery. You know you're not aloud to eavesdrop, run along before your father catches you." Mother pushed us away lightly and we began our walk to our rooms. Edisons room was always beside mine.
Our older brothers lived on the second floor and we lived on the first with mom and dad. I'm the only girl, and the only one who hasn't shifted yet. Maybe I'm just late? I know Becky who lives in the pack house didn't shift till she was 13. Maybe I'm like her? We where born early and mom had a lot of trouble having me. Maybe that's why? Sighing I flopped down on my bed and stared at the ceiling. "Don't worry Em, you'll shift one day." Edison said from our shared bathroom. He always knew what I was feeing, even when my mind was closed off from him. "You think so?" I sighed. "I know so" he replied before saying a goodnight and getting in the shower.
It felt like my eyes had just shut when I felt someone shaking me awake. "Hmm" I moaned in protest. "Wake up Em, we're going somewhere fun." Elliott spoke while lifting me. My silky pajama shorts and shirt stuck to my sweaty body. "Why?" I said half asleep. "We're gonna play with Wolves." Everett spoke from beside us. "Your wolves?" I said awake now. "Of course little one." Elliott said as he kissed my forehead.
I knew where we were going. I knew the danger behind doing what they were doing, but I didn't care. They were my brothers and I knew they'd protect me. Especially their wolves. "Hop on" Elliott spoke before shifting into his light brown wolf. I happily hopped on and held onto his fur. I was forced to carry the backpack that had clothes and a first aid kit, also snacks Everett snuck in there for me. Once we where in the clearing I hopped off Elliott and smiled as I saw the other wolves. Edison was at my side smiling also. "So cool" we said in synch.
"Why didn't Eddy come?" I asked noticing our oldest brother wasn't here. "He found his mate." Everett said while rolling his eyes. "He's no fun anymore." He pouted and I giggled. After watching both humans and wolves fight I needed to pee. I should not have drank that koolaid pouch so fast. "Edison I have to pee, I'll be right back." I said walking to the portapotty someone brought here a long time ago.
Once done with my business I stepped out and immediately got pulled behind a tree a few feet away. "What's your name?" The boy spoke while looking down on me. He was definitely older than me. He had a tattoo on his left shoulder that went down his arm and probably around his back. I knew those markings. Warrior marks. He's a warrior. "E-Emery..." I spoke softly. I was scared as too why a warrior was speaking to me. "Emery" he spoke softly. I shivered as the cold hair hit me and my name left his lips. "W-what's your name?" I asked slightly cold and less scared. "Florian." His name was beautiful. "Florian. How old are you?" I asked looking up at his green eyes. It was kind of hard to see him through the darkness and not having shifted yet I didn't have wolf sight.
"14, you?" He stroked my cheek softly. It felt a little weird knowing he was the same age as Everett. "11." He stopped touching me and stepped back. "I won't touch you until you ask." He spoke so professionally I almost forgot we where in the woods. I opened my mouth to speak but I heard my name being called by Edison. "I should go now." I said before leaving and running back to my brothers. I knew they would smell him on me. I just didn't know how to explain the encounter we had.

Werewolf"It's funny, Emery. You're parents are the King and Queen of my species, yet. You're nothing but a Human." Florian spoke nothing but the truth. I was just a human. A human living with a pack of wolves. "You know my mom is also human right?" I shot...
