I was comfortable. Warm. Too warm. And oh so quiet. No cars that passed by my alley, or shouts from groups of drunken teenagers that strode on the sidewalks. This was New York City outside, at night. There was always a sound. I forced my body to wake up, the process taking longer than I expected. Slowly but surely, my eyes opened. And widened comically wide. I was still drowsy, but I did not need a complete conciousness to realise I was in a bed, in a room, in a pyjama. None of the above were mine. None. I shot up in the bed and untangled myself from the pink sheets. "Really?" I mused sarcastically, making a disgusted face at the colour of the sheets. The whole room, actually. Pink. "Holy mother of some nonexistent God..." I added after a small silence, slipping out of the bed. That colour is horrible. I patted down my pyjama, frowning deeply at the texture of it. Expensive stuff. I turned to the door and found it to be unlocked so, with a giddy smile, I tugged it open slightly. The tingling spread through my fingers as I send my subconcious to soar through the building and map it out. Normally, it takes a second. But now I stood there almost frozen for a solid minute. The Avengers Tower. Jezus Christ.
And then it clicked. Anthony Edward Stark had taken me without my consent. I scowled at nothing in particular, folding my small arms across my chest. "JARVIS. Can you tell me where my doll is?" I asked in, what I thought, would be a friendly voice. "Of course, Miss Moon. Let me guide you. I'll notify Sir that you are awake." I hummed in response. Tony and mentoring me, after this? I was going to kick his ass, get Algebra, and leave. I followed a blue light that seemed to guide me through the many halls until it led me to some sort of Common Room. With all the Avengers packed inside. This good feeling I had hours ago? Yeah, its long gone. I prepare myself for any troubles, before I nonchalantly walk inside. When I reach the glass table and Algebra, I hear a woman say 'freeze.' Which I, of course, ignored. I took my doll in my arms and hugged her tightly before I turned around to face the yeller. "Natasha Romanoff, AKA, Black Widow. How can I help you and that gun of yours?" I questioned with an arched eyebrow, staring down the barrel of her aimed gun unfazed. It caught her off guard, me and my actions. But she hid it fairly well. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?" She demanded coldly. I snort, tilting my head to the side. "I am a young child in abuse by a redheaded woman, taken here by the alcoholic idiot himself, without my consent and without a reason. Now can you be so kind as to tell a nine year old where she can find the Tin Man himself to kick his ass?" I spat, getting impatient rather quickly.
"No. No she's lying." I heard a familiar voice state calmly. Tony. "I had a pretty good reason, if I say so myself. And Nat? Why the fuck are you holding a kid, a guest, under shot?" Tony narrowed his eyes at Natasha, but was quick to gulp when the ginger assassin send a glare his way and tucked her gun in her belt. Without a word, she left the common room, Hawkeye hot on her tail. "Language, Tony.." Steve Rogers, AKA, Captain America, stated with a sigh, standing up from the couch. "Oh hey, Father Time. I hadn't seen you there.." I mumbled audibly, offering him a fake shy smile. After all, maybe the innocent act of a little girl could get people on my side. Tony snorted into his alcoholic beverage, looking on in amusement. Steve smiled back at me, completely buying my act. He crouched down infront of me and ruffled my filthy hair. "Steve. Just call me Steve, little one." He offered, resting his hand on my shoulder. I mentally gagged and gritted my teeth as I replied. "C-can I call you Uncle? I always wanted one..." I had to win this man of chivalry to my side. If S.H.I.E.L.D. got wind of me and my IQ, the only 'power' I showed thus far, then I needed people to plead my freedom. I'm sure the hothead and hawk are notifying their boss now, like good little dogs. Steve had a bright smile on his face and engulfed me in a tight hug as he repeatedly told me to call him whatever I wanted to. I rolled my eyes at Tony over Steve's shoulder, the billionaire bursting out in laughter, masking it with severe coughs. "Uncle Steve, thank you." I told him as he finally let me breath, my own arms craddling Algebra. "Its fine, Catalina. Now, Tony. Why did you bring her here?" Steve questioned as he rose to his full height, turning around to face the billionaire with a don't-lie-to-me face.
Tony huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "I had good reasons, Capsicle." He countered. I furrowed my eyebrows, my cheeks heating in anger. "You took me away from my house without my consent, old man." I started, sitting Algebra on the ground to flail my hands about. "Technically, Steve is the oldest here and-" Tony started, but I cut him off by swaying my wrist; The air around him forcing him to fall on the couch. They wouldn't realise that it was my doing, I didn't make it that obvious. "Why?" I asked again, this time unable to keep the pain out of my voice. Yes, I wanted to meet him. I wanted to get a feel for the tower. But that alley, that dumpster, had been my home ever since I got here. Besides my IQ levels, I was still a child. I held sentimental value to my 'home' and it hurts to be away from it. It was my nifty little place. Steve had decided to stand next to me, his arms crossed firmly as he stared at Tony. With a sigh, the Billionaire sat up and ran his right hand through his brown hair. "Look, little mouse. You live in an alley. A dumpster as your house. You're nine! You can't expect me not to take you with me, kiddo. Besides, its better than stealing from my car." He explained, but I wasn't having any of it. I came to get Algebra and to go back home.
I picked my doll up and waved one hand at them. "Well, Tony. I don't want to be here. I want to go home." I told them childishly as I shuffled to the elevator. Right as I reached it, it opened with a 'ding.' But I haven't touched it! "Oh. H-hello there, who might you be?" A male voice asked me curiously. I turned to face the elevator and was shocked to see Dr Robert Bruce Banner there, crouched to be on the same level. And I shall admit, my inner fangirl was losing it. This man was reknown for the Hulk, yes. But his knowledge on Nuclear Physics, oh my God! "I..Y-you.." I stuttered, my green eyes widening. "I am a huge fan of your work in Nuclear Physics, Doctor. I'm honoured to meet you!" I squealed out. Behind me I heard a snicker and a confused grunt. Tony and Steve. Bruce smiled uncertainly, doubt in his eyes. "You... are familiar with my work? How old are you?" He asked hesitantly. I offered him a toothy grin. "Nine." I stated, almost proudly. Bruce made some high pitched noise of suprise and pushed his slipping glasses back up the bridge of his nose. "Tony." He started darkly, knowing the billionaire had something to do with this. Tony looked at Steve for help, who raised his hands in mock surrender and stepped back. "Oh no, this is your doing, Stark." He mused. I turned around to see the two bicker, a sheepish smile on my face. This will be interesting.
