I woke up to daddy and Shante standing next to me. "Happy birthday!" They shouted. I smiled. "Lets go we have to get to Orlando in time. I got out of bed and went into the bathroom. I took a quick shower and covered up my cuts with some makeup. I did my eyebrows and got dressed. I decided to wear a purple v neck top with black shorts and sandals. I looked amazing. I fixed my hair into an afro. I packed a few things for the rest of this weekend and headed downstairs.
"Happy birthday Dawn." Mama said.
"Thanks mama." I replied.
I kissed mama on her cheek and sat on the coffee table across from her.
"Get your ass off my coffee table." She said as she kicked me with her good leg. I sat on the couch and we waited on daddy and Shante.
When everybody was ready we headed on the road.
We stopped by Maddison and Jonathan to pick them up. All of us listened to music during the long drive to Orlando.

When we finally arrived at about noon. Mama says we are going to universal tomorrow. I can't wait to see all of the activities at the resort. We got out of the car and grabbed our stuff. Daddy got us checked in and this fine ass nigga carried our luggage to our rooms. He smiled at me. We all went into our rooms and got settled. Maddie and I shared a room and Jonathan got the living room. Shante had her own room too. Maddie and I relaxed in our bed.
"What do you wanna do first?" She asked.
"Lets go play tennis." I suggested.
She smiled as she nodded her head. We both got changed into our sports gear. Both of us went downstairs and headed to the tennis court.
When we got on the tennis court nobody was there. That gave us a chance to play a quick game.

We were at game point. The game is anyone's game. I served the ball and watched Maddie hit the ball with her racket. The ball came flying at me. I didn't move I just collapsed.
When I woke up bright lights burned my eyes. My family and best friends stood around me. "She's awake!" Mama shouted. A doctor came rushing towards me.
"How do you feel?" He asked.
"My head hurts."  I answered.
"Do you know why you passed out?"
"No."
"You lost a lot of blood..but the odd thing is your uterine lining is intact."
"Oh."
"I did some scans on you while you were unconscious. You have bruises in the vaginal area and some tissue damage."
Mama began to sob. Tears trickled down my face as the flashbacks haunted me again.
"Did you get assaulted?" The doctor asked. I looked at my parents then at Shante. Before I nodded my head.
"That punk ass Trevor did it right?" Daddy yelled.
"Yes." I said softly.
Daddy balled his fist and punched the wall.
"SUMMER THIS IS YOUR FUCKING FAULT!" Daddy yelled.
"HOW DEREK?!" Mama screamed.
"You let her have a boyfriend too early!"
"If she didn't tell us we still couldn't stop her!"
"Stop bickering! Both of you!" I cried.
The room went completely silent. Everyone looked at me. "Bickering isn't going to help. Fighting isn't going to help. If you guys really want to help take a different approach but right now I want to enjoy the rest of my birthday in bed." I said.
Everyone got quiet and sat down. The doctor discussed my health and told me that I will need stitches.

SUMMER
I can't believe Derek is blaming me for all of this. Its not my fault. Right? I was just trying to be a supportive mother. Dawn would have done whatever she wanted without me. Maybe it is my fault. I should have told her that she isn't allowed to have a boyfriend. I watched the doctor wheel Dawn away so that she can get stitches. Police officers came in the room shortly after. The questioned all of us about it. Apparently Shante and Maddison already knew about it. I was like Dawn's best friend in a way. I can't believe she didn't tell me. She usually comes to me about everything. Tears rolled down my face as the police left the room. I looked at Derek. This is the first time I've seen him cry in years. The last time he cried was when Dawn was born. He cried more than me.
"Mama." Shante said.
"Yes?" I replied.
"Don't cry. It's not your fault." She reassured as she patted my back.
"It is her fault." Derek said to Shante.
"Derek shut the fuck up. If you where home more often to notice that something was wrong with her maybe we could have dissolved the situation sooner."  I snapped.
Derek looked at me as if he wanted to hit me. I dared him with my eyes. He looked at Shante and looked away. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my phone from out of my purse. I texted my assistant and told her that I will be off sick for a while longer. I have to deal with Dawn and her situation and I don't want that to distract me from work. I will just give Dawn my full attention.
