Toriel was in the Ruins somewhere, and you and Ganz were the only ones in the house.
You were both in the living room, sitting at the fire. "So, (Y/N), how bout some information about yourself?" Ganz asked. You look away from the fire sadly. "There isn't much to tell." You had the feeling that Ganz shrugged. You felt Ganz put a hand on your shoulder. You look over at him. "Even if there's not much, I'd still like to hear it."
You gently shove his hand off your shoulder, then got ready to pull the long sleeve on the dress that Toriel gave you. You look at Ganz with a piercing glare. "Just a heads up, this isn't pretty." Ganz looked at you, confused.
You then took a deep breath, and shot up the sleeve so Ganz could see your whole arm, including your shoulder. Ganz then looked a little horrified. You sigh, irritated. "I know, I know. It's horrible."
You felt Ganz put his hand on your arm. "Why would anyone do this to such a kind person like you?" You pull away from him, and pull the sleeve back down. "Apparently my parents. They just loved to see me suffer." You growl.
It was quiet for a few minutes, the only thing you could hear was the peaceful crackling of the fire. You preferred it this way; no questions, nothing to make you uncomfortable. But of course, peaceful silence never lasts forever. How unfortunate.
"So, uh, kid." You look over at him. He looks a little uncomfortable. "Uh, have you ever thought of leaving? You know, leaving the Ruins?" You were now looking at him with a completely confused look on your face. There's more than the Ruins down here? How big was this place?! "Th-there's more than the Ruins?" You asked, amazed. Ganz did a slight "heh", looking back over at you. "Yeah. Don't you think the Ruins are a bit small?" You shake your head. "No! Not at all! After all, I don't think I've seen all of the Ruins. I mean, when Toriel first found me, I didn't see all of what was passing by me, since I ended up passing out." Ganz made an "oh" look. You were very interested now. "Have you seen more than the Ruins, Ganz?" "Yea, and trust me, kiddo. You don't want to go out there."
"Why?"
"Not everyone is kind."
"It's like that above, too, you know. I would know."
"It's different here, kid."
"Okay, and? We can just avoid the bad people!"
"It doesn't exactly work like that. You are not going out there."
"Then why did you ask me about it?"
Silence.
Ganz had an angered look on his face. (Er, skull) He looked like he was about to go insane or something. You scoot a little away from him. Finally, the door opened, and Toriel walked in. "Oh, Ganz. You looked a little worked up. Is everything okay?" Toriel sweetly asked. Ganz was quiet for a couple of seconds. "The kid wants to leave." He growled. Toriel gasped. You look at Ganz. "I didn't say that! I was just asking you why I can't go!" You hear Toriel sniffle a little. "No, it's okay. You would be unhappy here. The Ruins are small once you get used to them." She looked at Ganz. "Go with her. And, please, protect her. She's the last soul they need. Please, don't let her die." Ganz nodded, and looked at you. "You're going to need a jacket, a short sleeved shirt, and shorts. Perhaps boots. The shoes you're wearing right now will be good for Waterfall, Hotland, basically anywhere besides Snowdin." You nodded, sad about having to leave Toriel. She was the mother that you had lost, but, again, better. You didn't want to leave her. But now you had to.
You can't go back now.-------------------------------------------------------

I'm very proud to say that this is my first successful fanfic! I don't say "first successful book" because I think that my art/random book is kinda successful.
