Chapter 4

Rose and I wanted to go back home for a bit. I believe it was mostly due to us losing Gwyneth. We just needed some kind of reassurance and to make sure that us traveling with The Doctor is what we wanted. So that is where we were now. I walked out of the TARDIS doors and looked around smiling widely. The Doctor and Rose joined me.

"How long have we been gone?" I asked

"About twelve hours." Doctor replied

"Oh. Right, we won't be long. We just want to see our mum." Rose said

"What're you going to tell her?"

"I don't know. I've been to the year 5 billion and only been gone, what, twelve hours?"

I laughed.

"We'll come up with something. Probably just tell her that we spent the night at Shareen's." I said

"See you later. Oh, don't you disappear." Rose said

I chuckle as Rose grabs my arm and we run up the stairs to our flat. I open the door and run in.

"Mom? We're home." I shouted

"We was with Shareen. She was all upset again." Rose said

Mom came walking out of the kitchen with tears in her eyes and a shocked look on her face.

"What? What's that face for? It's not the first time Elektra and I have stayed out all night." Rose said

Mom drops her mug. It smashes on the floor.

"Mom? Mom, are you okay?" I asked

"It's you." Mom replied

"Of course it's us." Rose replied

"Oh, my God. It's you. Oh my God."

Mom hugs me and Rose. I look around to see a bunch of papers scattered around the table. Looking closer it was missing posters of for me and Rose. I widened my eyes.

"Rose, look on the table." I whispered

Rose looked at the table her eyes widening as well.

"What?" Rose asked shocked

Suddenly The Doctor came running into the loft.

"It's not twelve hours, it's twelve months. You've been gone a whole year. Sorry." Doctor said

I looked at Rose before looking at the Doctor than at my mom shocked. We've been gone for a whole year. No wonder our mother was freaking.

Now, Rose and I were sitting on a couch with a police officer standing in front of us. Our mother had called them telling them that we were finally back home and believe that she had our kidnapper. I had to hide my chuckle at that.

"Mom, this isn't necessary." I said

"The hours I've sat here, days and weeks and months, all on my own. I thought you were dead, and where were you? Travelling. What the hell does that mean, travelling? That's no sort of answer." Mom said

"It's the truth, mom."

Mom looked at the police officer.

"You ask them. They won't tell me. That's all they say. Travelling." Mom said
