I'm smiling because I peacefully drifted out of dream land this morning. When I woke up, I saw out my window, blue sky, green trees, and happy sunshine. I said, "I love You, God, and thank You for this beautiful day!" because I know, a day that begins with "I love you," and "thank you," is hard to mess up.
Then I looked at the foot of my bed and saw a friend that has been with me through a lot. Ok, I know that many people aren't so attached to their cats, but I am and its nice to see her contentedly sleeping and snoring by my feet. All it took was me nudging her with my foot, and she purred as though nothing in the world could be better.
I'm smiling because, I sat up in bed, and when I saw my reflection in the mirror, and I knew the person looking back at me. That is enough to make me smile first thing in the morning and keep me smiling all day.
