Maybe I wouldn't be so depressed if the sun would actually come out.

I kept staring up at the bland grey sky, as I made my way to school. It looked like it was going to rain any second, but I prayed that it would hold off a little while longer. My windshield wipers hated me.

The parking lot was a lot more dead that usual. If the sun was out and the weather was nice, students would talk to their friends by their cars until the bell rang for first period. Today, the only people seen were those who were walking towards the main doors, with their hoods up holding umbrellas.

I tossed my grey hood over my head, seconds after stumbling out of the car. I grabbed my backpack, just in time to look up and see Blake's distinguishable car pulling into the lot.

Just keep walking, I told myself. So I ducked my head and kept my eyes on the ground. Next thing I hear are tires screeching and the sound of someone screaming.

The sudden commotion freaked me out, making me jump and gasp. I looked back to see a large dark car waiting behind me, a much freaked out blonde frozen behind the wheel.

I hesitated, but took a few steps out of the way.

She inched up a few feet and rolled down the window. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"

I glanced around and blinked, slightly confused. Shouldn't she be cussing me out? I was the one that walked out in front of her.

"I'm not used to driving this thing. I'm not really used to driving at all."

        My eyes grew wide.

She leaned a little ways out of the window, glancing up and down the rows of cars. "You don't happen to see any spots, do you?"

I glanced around biting my bottom lip, hoping I would find something available. I stood on my tiptoes, glancing up the row to see a single spot that seemed to be open.

"Yeah, just keep going a little bit straight."

She smiled and nodded, once her eyes locked on the spot. "Thanks. Hey, you think you can show me the office? I'm new and have no sense of direction."

I gave her a soft smile, glancing back to the sound of Blake's car door shutting a couple of rows away. "Yeah, I'll walk up to you."

She rolled her window back up, creeping up the remainder of the aisle. Finally, she slid into the spot that I had pointed out to her.

I stood awkwardly at the back of her car, as she got out slowly and grabbed her bag. "Katerina," she pushed her hand out towards me.

I shook it lightly. But when I opened my mouth to tell her my name, I found myself confused when someone else said it.

"Hey, Mia!" I turned around to see Blake walking towards me.

I threw my head back in despair. "Why now?" I mumbled to myself.

The feeling of his hand on my back made me want to cringe. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, Blake. Why wouldn't I be?"

I felt his eyes lock on Katerina. "I heard honking as soon as you walked out into the parking lot. I was making sure you didn't get hit or anything."

I rolled my eyes as Katerina looked at the both of us with an amused smile. "Well one hint would be just to look at me. I doubt I'd be standing if I had just got hit by a car."
