Chapter six

Janet's POV

I sat on the curb outside Ringo's house next to Cheryl. I sniffled and wiped my eyes again. I don't know why I didn't see any of this coming. I heard a door and looked back to see Barbara coming out of the house loaded down with all of our bags. I had no idea where Deedee, Ringo, Lucy and George got off to during all of that. All I knew was I had been thrown to the curb by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

"Alright girls, it's time for plan B." Barbara said walking past us continuing down the road.

"What do you mean?" I sniffled and looked at her not standing up.

"What? You think we're giving up just like that?" Barbara chuckled.

"Oh no you don't!" Cheryl said standing up and grabbing Barbara's arm. "I am not going through aanymore of this! I'm out! I'll see you guys later... bye Janet, I'll try to keep in touch." She looked a little sad but turned around and walked off in the other direction. She never looked back and I had no idea what to say. I didn't want her to go but I couldn't stop her.

"Shame..." Barbara mumbled then started walking in the opposite direction. I slowly stood up. Run to try and catch up to Cheryl or go with Barbara... I sighed and followed Barbara. At least she has money and knows where things are. Besides I'm bound to find all the girls with her, right?

Barbara took us to a small bed and breakfast type place and gave us each our own room. I took my bags in and settled in a bit but I was still pretty sad. I decided I'd go for a nice walk around the area and maybe stop somewhere for lunch if I was even hungry by then. As I walked I thought about everything. I don't know why I expected Paul to just immediately fall in love with me, it's not like I'm a gorgeous super model or actress or anything. And besides he already had Jane and I knew that... suddenly I was knocked to the ground.

"Ouch! Hey!" I looked up to see a guy running down the sidewalk with my purse. "Help! Thief!" I shouted and ran after him. Which was hard because I was wearing heals.

I continued shouting and calling for help but everybody just stopped and watched and got out of both our ways. "Thanks a lot!" I shouted at some of them angrily. Could this day get any worse?! Then suddenly a young man was at my side running just ahead of me. I looked at him and he looked at me for a second and gave me a half smile before sprinting ahead a bit and eventually over took the man. Honestly it would have been very easy to stop him but there are so many laws I might as well not have magic abilities.

"Here you go." The young man said breathlessly handing me my purse. He then pulled out his cell phone and called somebody. I couldn't really understand what he said. I didn't really say anything and after all I was panting rather hard. And the young man was still holding the theif down. He looked pretty cute. He was tall with sandy blond hair and deep earthy brown eyes. The cutest little smile. I felt myself smiling a little.

"Um, thank you, so much, um..."

"William, William Shears." He smiled. "I'd shake your hand but."

"Yeah. Sorry. Thank you though, William, Mr. Shears." I blushed a little.

"William's fine, love. The boys should be here any minute. I'm a detective, but it's my week off."

"Oh ok, that explains a few things I suppose. Oh! My name's Janet Maurson by the way. I'm just... here on vacation. I'm from Georgia."

"It's very nice to meet you miss Maurson." He smiled again. "I wish it was under slightly better circumstances but no one is hurt so it is my pleasure to meet you."

Then a police car pulled up and put the guy in the car. They talked to William and I and then drove off.

"So um, Janet, do you have any plans for today?" William asked as we slowly walked down the street.

"No, not really. I." My stomach growled loudly and I blushed as William laughed.

"You're hungry aren't you." He poked me in the stomach which made me squeal slightly and he smiled and laughed some more. "Would you join me for lunch?"

"Of course, that'd be lovely. I'm afraid I haven't eaten yet today."

"Well goodness silly girl! I know just the place to take you then!" He grinned and took my hand. "My car's right over there, the place isn't far."

Cheryl's POV

I walked down the street carrying my small bag. I was gonna go back to California but I figured while I was here I might as well check out England. It was a little chilly for my taste but still amazing. I eventually walked into a smaller part of town where there weren't many people but the surroundings were lovely. After a while I heard footsteps behind me. I looked over my shoulder and gasped. It was Wally! He wobbled down the street behind me surprisingly fast for such a big man. He wore a sort of gray/brown suit and top hat with his brown brissly mustache. He must be rich. But he was still creepy. So I turned off into and alley. But he followed me. I started running, there was nobody else around if something happened there'd be no one to help me. I ran and jumped a fence then ran through a small empty park. I slowed down and looked behind me but he was gone. I started wondering if maybe I should go back to the girls. I had a bad feeling about this guy and I didn't want to be alone.

Barbara's POV

I sat in a booth alone at a fancy restaurant, behind me was Paul McCartney and some girl, I guess his girlfriend. She was a fairly pretty girl but she had the brains of a fence post and was a total snob. She didn't deserve him, it was time to end this. I saw the waiter approaching and got my control unit ready. Right when he walked up with a large plate of pasta I clicked a switch and he tripped dumping the pasta on the girl.

"Ugh! My new dress! My hair! My nails! Argh you little cluts! I ought to have you fired!" She screamed at him freaking out. Paul sat wide eyed for a minutes then started trying to calm her down. She pushed him away. "I can't believe you're on his side of this!" She screamed at him.

"Darling, no! I'm not on any side! But it was just an accident I'm sure!" Paul said quickly.

"Argh! It's over Paul! And I'll sending you the bill for all of this!" She screamed then stomped off.

Paul plopped back down in his seat sadly and sighed. Then smashed his fist on the table.

"Well hey there Paul!" I said sliding into his booth sitting across from him.

"Oh no, not you again!" He rolled his eyes.

"Look, I think we got off on the wrong foot. I'm not actually crazy I was just so nervous." I smiled awkwardly and he just looked at me with his cute droopy sad eyes. "But I'm not here about me, I don't matter. The point is my friend Janet, you really hurt her you know."

He sighed. "She's not my problem, no one's my problem now." He took a large sip of his wine. Soon he finished the whole bottle and was completely drunk.

"Look, why don't I take you back to my hotel room and you can stay the night there until you've slept this hangover off, hmm?"

"I don't care..." he mumbled and drooped onto the table. I half walked, half carried Paul to my car and took him back. It was really late and Janet wasn't back and none of the girls had showed up so I just put Paul in Janet's room. She could sleep with me when she got back and that way I wouldn't have to worry about moving all my stuff. So after I got him undressed to his under cclothes and ticked in asleep I went to my own room and got ready for bed. In the morning it would be time for the next part of the plan. Match maker.
