Chapter Seven

Lucy's POV

George and I snuck out of the house during the fighting to find some peace and quiet. We got something to eat and walked around a bit but I could tell he was tired and really just wanted to sleep.

"This has been a very lovely day George but, I am a bit tired." I said. He perked up a little.

"Well we can go back to me place and take a rest then get some dinner."

"That sounds great." I said and we headed back to his place.

He showed me to his guest room and then he left and went to his own room. I just sort of laid there for a while. I wasn't actually tired you know I just did that for him. Besides I was so excited I was with George Harrison! In his house! I didn't break in! It was just the two of us... hmm... just the two of us... I looked at the small silver alarm clock on the night stand it was about 5:30. I got up and quietly tiptoed into the kitchen. I looked through the cabinets and ice box but he didn't have much. Well I guess he did just get back from out of the country didn't he. He had the ingredients for spaghetti but I didn't want to fix that. I don't see why everyone thinks spaghetti is romantic it's like I just slurped noodles into my mouth and now I have sauce all over my face isn't it beautiful? I don't know I guess some people have their own opinions.

"What are you doing, love?" George said walking in still sounding sleepy, his shirt halfway untucked and wrinkled.

"I was looking for something to fix for dinner."

"Hmm... I'm afraid I don't have much..."

"Yeah..."

"We could just go out if you want."

"Oh, that would be nice but I can tell you're still tired and we ate out earlier. I'd really hate to take so much from you."

"Oh no, it's my pleasure." George grinned sleepily. It was the cutest thing ever.

"Why don't we go to the store and stock up on some food and I'll fix us something. It's definitely the least I can do and that way we don't have to fix ourselves up so much and we can just relax."

"That's very kind of you, Lucy. You ready to go then?"

"Yes I believe so..." I picked up my purse off the counter then turned around to face him again and giggled. "You may want to tuck the rest of your shirt back in though before we go." He looked down and chuckled his cheeks turning just barely pinker than they were before.

"Thank you... You know... it's rather nice having a sweet girl around." He smiled sweetly.

I grinned and blushed a little. I can't believe he just said that to me. If he did anything more I was gonna fall over.

We got out of the car and walked into the small grocery store. George followed me as I found everything we might need. He almost looked like he was sleep walking, I felt bad for him. But at least he didn't kill us when we drove over here.

"I forgot if you had any juice... do you remember?" I stopped and looked back at him.

"I don't know..." he shrugged.

"Do you like orange juice or grape juice?"

"Yes..."

"Well which one?" I gave him a funny look.

"What?..."

"Orange or grape?"

"Oh... orange..."

"Hold in there George we're almost done." I rubbed his back.

I got a loaf of bread and some peanut butter and jam. Then we paid and left.

"Want me to drive?" I asked after putting the groceries in the back.

"Nah that's ok, I got it."

"Ok then." I walked around and started to get in the car.

"Lucy I just said I'd drive."

"What?" I gave him a funny look.

"Haha that's the driver's side, love. Think reverse. Probably good thing I'm driving." He laughed and I blushed as I walked around and got in the other side.

When we got back to his place he laid out on the couch while I made some chicken noodle soup. When I was done and went in to get him he was laid out half way falling off, mouth hanging open. I giggled and he snorted and opened his eyes a little and looked at me confused for a moment.

"Dinner's ready." I said softly.

"Oh, thank you." He said sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "Smells good, what is it?"

"Just some chicken noodle soup. I figured since you were tired and probably not too used to all the other types of food in america this would be a good things to have."

"That's very thoughtful of you, love. It smells amazing."

"Well I hope it's as good as you make it sound." I blushed a little.

"You blush a lot." He said suddenly. Causing me to blush a deeper shade. "You're really cute, you know that?" He giggled a little. "There it is, you're so red. I kiss those cute little cheeks." He stopped suddenly.

Then I realized I had stopped breathing for a second and took a nervous shaky breath.

"I'm sorry." He said sounding sad.

"It's ok, you didn't do anything wrong..." I looked down and saw a large puddle of water at my feet. He looked at me oddly then looked down where I was looking.

"Where did that come from?" He said sounding completely bewildered.

I could tell he was seeing if any other parts of me were wet besides my feet, but I wasn't. He looked up at me and I snapped my fingers and the water soaked through the carpet until it was all gone making the floor dry. Then he looked down again.

"Hey! Where'd it go?" He stood up quickly.

"What are you talking about?" I said nervously.

"Don't be like that! I know you saw it too! What was it?!"

"I'm sorry..." I felt my eyes getting watery.

"Are you going to explain?" He asked sounding serious.

"I... I can't..."

He frowned and I could feel a tear rolling down my cheek.

"And why can't you?" He crossed his arms and squinted his eyes.

"It's complicated...." I sighed.

"Lucy I just met you. If you're not gonna be truthful right here and now at the beginning I'm gonna have to... ask you to go..." he said his voice turning more sad.

"Well I don't even know if you'd believe me if I did tell you. But I can't tell you." I said starting to cry. "Maybe one day you'll find out or... well I don't know... could you please just believe and trust me. I know you don't hardly know me and you have no reason to believe anything I say but... just please...." I begged but he didn't speak or move.

After standing there scared and shaking, George stone faced. I broke down crying hard. You know the saying cry me a river?... yeah well... that originally came from people like me... pretty soon Georges house was flooded and he was freaking out.

"Lucy stop! What are you doing?! What the heck is going on?! What are you?!" He jumped up on the couch.

I blocked most of it out. I don't really know why I lost it like that. Usually I'm quite calm and controlled. I guess George is just a soft spot for me for some reason. Don't really know why...
